Vehicle description
No Reserve! This is a very neat old tow truck for a variety of uses. It runs drives and operates - but dont ask to drive it home! Its and old truck and has been off the road for a while. It has a very good running 345 V8 engine and 4 speed transmission. Power steering, power brakes (rare disc front), independent front suspension. This is actually a very smooth riding truck. The tow truck bed and winch all operate 100%. A few random lights on the truck are not working. This would be a great truck for a collector, advertising, mobile crane, ETC. It is well above average condition rust wise especially for the east coast. It has some of the rust starting over the windshield which is common for the 69-75 D-series. This is about the worst rust on the truck. Which brings me to my next point. The truck is definitely a 74/75 IH truck (grille, setback engine, disc front brakes) I"m not sure if someone did a cab swap at one time with an earlier cab. The clear title and matching serial number plate say 1971 so this is what the truck is being listed as.
Good points:
- Runs really good. - Bed is complete and funtional - even has the wheel dollies for flat towing - Rust is not bad at all for east coast work truck from the 70"s
Bad points:
- Brakes work fair but the pedal is softer than it should be - Someone lost the keys and now you start it with a switch under the dash - It should not be driven home just do to sensibility. It has been off the road and should have a more thorough going-over of all mechanical components before it is considered road ready.
This truck is located in Cochranville, PA 19330 which is about halfway between Lancaster, PA and Philadelphia, PA
Feel free to call for more information.
