Fiat 500L - Condition is Used.
Vehicle is in very good condition, always kept in garage, maintained by a professional foreign car mechanic. It was fully restored in Italy and brought to a dealer in Chicago in 2001. Because it was before 17 digits VIN were introduced, it"s VIN is only 7 digits= 5057408, listed on NJ Title in my name.
I bought it there in 2002, car had brand new engine, odometer was set at zero. The Odometer is in kilometers, now it shows 14,289 km = 8,860 miles approximately.
With my wife we drove it back to NJ on our own, it was a fantastic road trip, took almost three days taking back roads avoiding freeways, great fun. .seeing the parts of the Country otherwise we will never see.
Car was driven only in good weather, never in rain or snow, mostly for short trips or to local Vintage Car Shows- always getting a lot of attention.
Recently performed complete brakes overhaul, installed new battery, starter, electronic distributor, air filter and had full oil/grease service. Few years ago I installed custom steering wheel, shift knob (originals included in sale), new headlights, stop lamps, stainless steel bumpers, performance muffler and alloy oil pan. There is a small hair size crack in the paint on the left side, under front windshield, no rust showing, looks like they put too much Bondo when restoring. .see pic. The engine itself is from Fiat 126, it is 650 cc instead of 500cc as original was. Transmission has 2., 3. and 4. gear synchronized, car easily cruises at 60, can go faster but not necessary. Over the years of ownership I collected many new spare parts, Fiat Service Manual, set of Abarth wheels with larger tires -all included in sale.
