About this vehicle This 1971 Dodge Charger RT is an original with updates to the exterior. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes I have original radiator, carburetor and a/c compressor that I will include in sale. I also have build sheet and 2 of the original magnum 500 rims (see pics). Also some aftermarket parts that I never had a chance to put in: rocker covers, sun visors, package tray and other misc parts - see pics. The car is sold strictly in as is condition- please ask any questions before purchase or bidding- or come see the car in person if possible before purchase. Seems like a relatively easy restoration for the right person on a rare car that keeps going up in value. Vehicle Details 71 Charger R/T. Originally Top Banana yellow. It was painted white in the early 80’s. No major bodywork or bondo- just sprayed over the yellow. Literally just had extra white paint from another car. White paint is lacquer and is crackling in some areas. All original drivetrain- numbers matching engine trans and rear. Many original parts included in sale. Owned by me since late 1970s. Garaged since 1984. Literally has not seen rain since then. Engine was rebuilt and running strong - replacement carb was just rebuilt (original is included in sale) Odometer shows 9,000 miles. I can attest that it has turned over once and true mileage is 109,000. Will need restoration- hasn’t been driven in about 3-4 years. Transmission prob needs rebuild. It runs and moves but I’m not sure I’d trust it on the road until it has a thorough going over. It was originally an air conditioned car- a/c was removed in the 80s. I have original compressor- could probably be restored in working order. Under hood wiring was redone in the 80s- may need re-doing. Front seats were reupholstered- rest of the interior is original. (See pics) Body is in decent condition- rust in the usual spots but not excessive. See pics for details. There is an extra antenna hole in the fender- my brother had put an electric antenna in back in the day and had to relocate it to house the motor. The driver’s rear quarter panel looks like it is not original- we got this car in 1975 and never had any bodywork done to it - unless it was changed before we got it, not aware of any bodywork or accidents. I’ll include an original pic from when the car was yellow. Passenger side has a dent that extends into the door- and rear valence will need replacing (see pics).
