This 1971 RT Hemi Clone is one mean street machine ready to cruise to your local shows in a never-ending cloud of tire-smoking fury. It's the recipient of a rotisserie restoration and has a MOPAR Performance Hemi crate engine 6 years ago. When the rotisserie restoration was done they took it down to bare metal before it received bodywork and paint. The Challenger received new rear quarters, a new trunk pan and the rest of the metal is original on the car. After extensive block sanding, the car received a shiny new base/clear paint job which has been color sanded and buffed to a mirror shine. The original stainless trim has been refinished and the chrome looks new. The glass is in good condition original stuff and the taillights are original as well. The interior was restored as well and includes a set of working gauges and a center console with a Slap Stick shifter. The seat covers, carpeting, headliner, visors, package tray, and door panels were done with the restoration as well. The suspension and brakes on the Challenger were completely rebuilt from front to rear. The suspension uses 960 torsion bars, Hemi rear springs, Hemi rear sway bars. New ball joints, tie rods, and all-new suspension bushings were done at the time of the restoration. The brake lines were replaced from front to rear and all the drum brakes have been redone. All of the metal suspension components were media blasted and refinished as well. The tires are BF Goodrich and the wheels are Rallyes. The motor is the RIP roaring Mopar Performance Hemi Crate engine that makes 465 hp and 485 ft-lbs. These motors are just a few bucks under $16,000 new and with 7.0 liters of displacement they really lay down the attitude. Cooling the motor is an all-aluminum big block radiator and the car exhales through a stock-style aluminized exhaust system. I have upgraded to fuel injection since the poster was made for ease of starting and smooth operation. Engine spec and components *Heavy-duty, cast-iron block with cross-bolted mains *Forged steel crank (3.750 in. stroke) *Fuel Injection *Cylinder heads are cast iron, with big stainless steel valves (2.25in. intake and 1.94in. exhaust) *Heavy-duty valve springs with integral dampers, and umbrella-type valve stem seals *Forged Aluminum pistons with a 4.250 in. bore and a 9.0:1 Compression Ratio *Hydraulic cam intake lifts are 0.495 in., with 0.480 in. for the exhaust, and 278 degrees of duration for both. *Mopar electronic distributor *Chrome valve covers and breathers *Premium double-row roller timing chain and gears 6qt. front-sump oil pan. Paired to the Hemi is the tried and true 727 Torqueflite transmission, which was completely gone through. The rear end is a 489 Hemi case that's been rebuilt with 3.54 posi gear. The car fires right up and can be driven with confidence out on the road. It cools efficiently and the power really rolls on under full throttle. For Mopar enthusiasts looking for a Hemi that can be driven at will, this car has good looks and even better performance! *We have the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells locally! *The buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping! *A $1000.00 deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction! *Full payment within 7 days of the auction!
