Vehicle description

Very rare barn find, 2 owner 1971 Chevy C10 2 wheel drive long bed pickup. Selling for an older gentleman friend here in town. He purchased it in August of 1986 with 50,000 original miles on it. It now sports 58,189. There is an oil change sticker from 1987 that is still on the driver door to substantiate mileage. Truck has the original 350 V8, 4 barrel with a TH350 automatic trans. It is a Camper Special model and has manual steering and brakes. It has had 1 repaint back in the 1980s; not sure exactly when, but it was done before present owner purchased it. I have taken over 100 photos of the truck and urge you to reach out to have me send all of them to you.
The truck has been stored inside a climate controlled shop/barn since it was purchased in 1986. No bugs or critters have taken residence in the truck. It was started and driven short distances regularly to keep everything limber and working as it should. Fuel was stabilized to keep from gumming up the fuel system. We have done a few things to freshen it up and make it roadworthy. The fuel system was flushed and the the QuadraJet carburetor was rebuilt. The rear brakes were rebuilt as one shoe decided to stick to the drum. The front brakes are excellent and near-new. We attempted to rod-out/repair the original radiator and also looked at re-coring it to keep it original. Neither was feasible, so there is a brand new radiator installed along with fresh coolant. Nothing else was required to get it back on the road. The tires are going to need replaced due to age. Sidewalls are starting to crack from age.
All lights, gages, etc. work as they should. Truck starts at the bump of the key and runs like new. Transmission shifts well. One good Saturday of detailing will get you on the car show circuit. The truck was polished/waxed just before being stored, so the paint still retains it"s luster. There are a few chips here and there as the truck was driven and not a trailer queen. It still shows very well. There is one small hole in the driver side rocker panel. I have pictures showing this; all other metal is solid. I see no evidence of body filler in the truck. The body/quarter panels are laser straight. This is a true time capsule. It has an 8-track player with a glove box full of tapes. The original owners manual is in the glove box and all factory stickers remain in place. All glass is good and windows roll up and down nicely.
Things it needs: Small piece of grille near the hood release broke; most of the piece is there and can be reattached. Needs new tires. Currently, the brake light is on; not sure if it is due to the switch on the emergency brake or if the system needs bled to reset the pressure switch on the proportioning valve. It needs a brake pedal pad. Alternator is a little noisy; not bad but trying to be honest about the condition.
All in all, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer example of an original 1971 Chevy C10. The truck is for sale locally, so we reserve the right to end the auction early if an acceptable offer is received. As I mentioned, I have over 100 photos of the truck that I am happy to share. Text or call me at and give me your preferred way of receiving the photos. If you are close enough to come inspect it for yourself, I urge you to do so. If you want to have someone else come to check it over, we will make it available by appointment. The reserve is set at a reasonable figure based on the condition of the truck. A deposit of $500 is due immediately upon purchase an the balance is due within 3 business days via bank wire, cashier"s check or cash. Pickup is sole responsibility of the purchaser. Thank you for looking.
