Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1971 Chevrolet C10/K10 is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle is drivable. Vehicle Details It’s a step sideI think 6 1/2 feet long It has the cast iron larger six-cylinder displacing 292 cubic inches ; it produces 165 brake horsepower at 4,000 rpm. Three V8 engines are available as options. The smallest displaces 307 cubic inches and produces 200 brake horsepower at 4,600 rpm using a two-barrel Rochester carburetor. A three-speed manual with column-mounted shifter is standard Other Specs Half-ton trucks use a semi-floating rear axle . Front disc and rear drum brakes are standard. This one’s a standard truck with really no frills or options. Gross vehicle weight (GVW) is rated at up to 5,100 lbs. for the C10 Exterior Some typical rust on wheel wells rocker panels etc. some dents . Interior Nothing special , see photo Engine This is a truck that will run drive stop etc . Stock 292, carb rebuilt A few years ago when I stopped using it. The gas tank behind the driver seat was leaking so I pulled that out and use a fuel cell in the bed of the truck but took that out as it’s sat now for 3 years. I do have a used Fuel tank that will fit underneath the bed of the truck, but it will have to be installed, it will come with the truck as a spare part .We do periodically start it up probably every 3 to 4 months, but mostly this truck has been sitting in my yard here in New Mexico. It has typical rust here and there but nothing too severe, like the floorboards rusted out none of that, but rocker panels and rust on the fender wells and stuff like that it does have. I have purchased cab corner replacement and rocker panel parts that come with the truck to the new owner. It served it’s life as a forest service truck And received fleet maintenance here in Northern New Mexico, and was green color. The engine is strong does not burn oil or anything like that. My neighbor bought it back in the 1980s and it sat on his property for probably or 15 years unused, I purchased it used it for a few years and then bought a heavier duty truck. The truck was supposed to be for my son and I to rebuild but this is not going to happen. I realize it has value as a builder truck. And it will be a super enjoyable project for somebody . I don’t think the odometer is working so the last mileage we recorded was in the 170 thousand mark so we will call this approximate not exact . This truck has been sitting most of it’s life waiting to be reborn. Download the Motors app
