Vehicle description
Fully restored 1970 Volkswagen Squareback. This car is probably better than new. Engine is a 1776 rebuild with all new parts, including the crank, piston, rods, bearings, etc. It was professionally rebuilt by Air Cooled Only. It has two Weber carbs, electronic ignition, new clutch, etc. I have all the receipts. I custom made new motor mounts, as new ones are unavailable. It runs like a Swiss watch. The front end was completely rebuilt with new ball joints, new rod ends, new bushings, new steering box, etc. The brakes were all rebuilt; all cylinders were rebuilt, new shoes and fluids. Tires are new, wheels were trued and painted. The interior is by SewFine, and includes new seats, side panels, headliner and carpets. The dash is new, as are the rear hinge covers. Interior light even works. All windows were removed prior to painting the car in its original color. All rubber door seals were replaced as were all the window seals and trim. All emblems, chrome trim and lenses were replaced with new. Bumpers were rechromed as new ones are unavailable. The car has a radio/CD player that came with car. I have wired it up but have not installed speakers as I believe the new owner car customize their own music system. I found the car about two years ago and started the restoration then. I inherited a 1969 Squareback from my grandfather back in the ‘70s and had been looking for one for a while. I dedicated this restoration to him. I have been downsizing and now find I have no room to store this beautiful car properly. Otherwise I would not be selling it. It is economical, practical, and fun to drive. I doubt there are any as nice as this one. I just took it for a 200 mile trip and it purred. Everywhere I went people took notice. She is a gem and I have all the receipts which will come with the car.
