Vehicle Details 1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia for sale right now in Tampa, Florida. These up-market, air-cooled Volkswagens were manufactured by the German auto-giant from 1955 to 1974 and almost half a million examples were sold in that time period. The Beetle might have been the working man's VW, but the Karmann Ghia was the weekend driver- a sportier alternative if you will. A pleasingly original yellow exterior with black vinyl bucket seats and a wood-paneled dashboard is simple but stylish. The original Volkswagen steering wheel and just three gauges (speed, fuel and a clock) adorn the dash and that's really all you need. The manual transmission is the only way to enjoy an air-cooled VW and you'll have fun blasting around town in this light, peppy Karmann Ghia. Under the rear hatch is a 1500cc air-cooled boxer 4-cylinder engine with a single two barrel carburetor. This 1970 VW Karmann Ghia has been well looked after and maintained. Comes with a binder of receipts and service records, as well as parts catalogs and books. This car is unrestored with a few year old paint job, so it has normal wear and tear, to be expected. Drives great, only problems are a chip near the driver side mirror, small rusted area under fuel line hose connectors, and brake light troubles. Recently serviced brakes and engine by a classic VW professional. New door panels and clips will be included ready for install. Starts right up, runs solid, and brakes strong. Great car to drive to car shows or cruise the beach front. Vehicle is sold as is with no warranty. Buyer is responsible for shipping and a deposit of $500 will be required within 48 hours of auction ending. Reserve error in previous listing, reserve is now lowered to $10,000.
