Vehicle description

Vehicle Details Lovingly restored Mk III Spitfire in original factory color. This is a UK model, right hand drive, built in 1968 or 1969, and titled in the USA as a 1970. No short-cuts were taken in the restoration. She starts easily; runs, drives and stops correctly. An absolute pleasure to drive with constant smiles on the driver, passenger and people you pass. Of all my British cars, this is the one that doesn't leak! EXTERIOR: The body work was done professionally by Kane Motor Cars of N. Kingston RI. The exterior was refinished in single stage acrylic enamel and buffed and polished creating a period-correct finish and color. INTERIOR: The interior received new seats with leather tuck-and-roll upholstery, matching leather on the center armrest and e-brake boot, and dyed original carpet. A black vinyl soft-top is included in good condition. MECHANICAL: The car is in excellent overall mechanical condition and reflects the low actual mileage of 56k miles. The engine is the highly desirable Triumph 1300 which revs freely and pulls strong at all rpms. Compression testing revealed consistent and uniform pressures across all 4 cylinders: 140, 145, 140, 140 psi. Oil pressure is right where it should be both cold and warm. New shocks (4), tires, and brakes and hydraulics ensure a safe and sporting ride. Twin SU carbs were cleaned and rebuilt. It has a lovely tick-over idle. Stainless steel muffler provides that classic British sound - not too loud, but not too quiet either. I think it's just right.
