Vehicle description
1970 911T If you"re looking for a numbers matching ,100-point Concours car this is probably not the car for you. However, if you"re looking for a well sorted, well documented 911 that"s a blast to drive then keep reading. In 1970 the 911T was considered the entry-level model stripped bare of any unnecessary features and remained carbureted up until 1972 whilst its siblings the 911E and 911S gained a very early fuel injection system. When compared to the 911E and 911S the 911T had the lowest engine output of 125 hp @ 5800 RPM with the 911E at 155hp at 6200 RPM and the 911S at 180hp @ 6500 RPM. The 911T became desired as a no-frills driver"s car-despite being the entry level 911. Porsche used the 911T as a foundation for the 911T/R racer, the properly homologated iteration of the iconic 911R. This particular 911 T is an early 1970 production non sunroof car. The original paint code is 8080 which is Silver Metallic. The floor pans and rockers appear to be original and in great shape. It was told that at some point of its life one owner was considering turning it into a track car and had dreams of racing the car on weekends. Unfortunately those dreams were never realized due to the owner passing away and the car was subsequently sold. After that the car kind of started its hot rod /restoration build . .passing ownership a few times with each owner adding to the work of the previous owner and improving the car under each ownership. The last three ownerships are well documented and under each ownership a fair amount of money was spent improving the car. Under current ownership an easy $10k was spent on upgrades and improvements. Here"s some highlights on some of the improvements: Exterior: -At some point the car was repainted. Not 100% concours but respectable with nice gaps and body lines and nice crisp ping sound when the door shuts. -Clear bra on full hood ,headlights, and part of front spoiler. -Aftermarket 911 S front spoiler (fiberglass) -Headlights upgraded to real Bosch H4"s. expensive upgrade and big improvement over original sealed beam headlights. Engine: -upgraded to a 3.0L with 44 PMO carbs and stainless-steel heater boxes. -the engine is a 50-state catalyst that would have had Lambada sensor and cat when new. -based on engine serial number it puts it between Aug 1982 and July 1983.This would have been a US spec engine for a coupe, Targa, or cab. -produces 180hp@5500 RPM and 175ftlbs of torque @ 4200 RPM -compression ratio is 9:3:1 which is higher than other versions of the 3.0l engines of that era. -fiberglass engine shroud. -fiberglass engine tin. -911 RSR spark plug wire looms. -new rocker shafts. -CDI box 6 pin,6pin CDI wiring harness/CDI ignition coil. -turbatrol fender mounted oil cooler and factory hard lines and thermostat to help keep operating temperatures safe. Transmission: -Upgraded to a 915 gearbox and axle assemblies. -The gearbox is a 915/73 code box which shows to be a 5spd fully synchro box w/ oil cooler and w/onLSD. That would have been built between Aug 1984 and July 1985 for a 911 Carrera/Turbo look with a 3.2 engine built for US/Japan markets. -Gear Ratios 1st 3.18(11/35) 2nd 1.83 (18/33) 3rd 1.26(23/29) 4th 1.00 (26/26) 5th 0.79(38/30) R+P 3.88 (8/31) Brakes and Suspension: -911 S front brakes w/new pads. -Koni orange adjustable shocks front and rear. -Smart Racing Products larger diameter sway bars with adjustable drop links. -the car has been lowered close to euro spec. Tires: -New Pirelli tires -15 x 6 Fusch wheels. The ones on car were restored at some point. .not spare. -also have extra fusch wheel included Exhaust: -M&k custom exhaust (sounds great) -Dansk muffler included (practically new) Interior -Hounds tooth sport seats. -New racing lap belts. -Mounted fire extinguisher. -917 wood shift knob. -Working Heuer clock. -Updated speedo and tach. -Sport steering wheel. -Original dash, door panels, and carpet set. -Coco floor mats. -New trunk carpet set. -2017 replaced fuel tank with factory Porsche fuel tank. The tank was coated internally with Bill Hirsch tank coating system and all fuel lines and vent tubing replaced as well as a new fuel pump. There will be miscellaneous parts and pieces include in sale(see photo gallery)Also Car cover will be included. Again the car is not a number matching concours car but it is a well sorted very respectable driver that is a blast to drive. .and these cars are meant to(and need to be) driven!
