Vehicle description

This is the one. The “One of none”, 1970 Hemicuda AAR convertible.
This car started life as a six cylinder 3 speed car. Sometime in it’s life, it was given the AAR treatment paint job. It now has a 472ci Hemi under the hood, backed by a four speed. The car is done up with all factory correct available options, just not in this combo of course. But, the detail of the car is all factory appearing… The fun part: 472 cubic inches of HEMI power. Mopar performance block, with Stage V cylinder heads, Stage V 2x4 single plane intake, Stage V roller rocker arms and pedestals, and Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam. made 576hp, 545lbs ft, all in by 5800rpm, all done up to look factory proper. Cast iron factory style exhaust manifolds exit into a proper Hemi H pipe, into flow master mufflers with AAR chrome side exit exhaust tips. new high torque starter fires it off. The A833 four speed transmission shifts perfectly through the factory pistol grip, brand new clutch and flywheel, and is trouble free. The rear end is a 8-3/4 with a 489 center section, that has a rebuilt sure grip with NOS factory 3.23 gears, new bearings and seals. The manual brakes have larger Mopar single piston calipers on factory discs up front on new bearings, and rebuilt drums out back. New factory style smaller piston master cylinder (for more line pressure), with a proportioning valve for the rears. Car stops well for manual brakes. Brand new Firm Feel power steering box for better road feel, with all front end bushings replaced. Front upper factory control arms have new moog offset bushings installed for a little more caster, improving self centering of the wheel and overall handling. Brand new rear leaf springs out back and hemi spec torsion bars up front. Brand new wiring harness under the hood, with a Revonator electronic ignition, with built in rev limiter. Rebuilt wiper motor. Period correct AGM battery as well, to finish the period look and details under the hood. Heavy duty 4 core 22” radiator and high flow water pump handle the cooling. The air cleaner is a special touch that sets it aside from any other: Stage V 2x4 intake carb center spacing, on the six barrel air cleaner lower base plate, with a six barrel air cleaner lid. It has the rubber seal to mate to the hood as well. All this makes for a one of a kind 2x4 barrel Hemi engine mated with a six barrel air cleaner that functions perfect. Brand new red carpet kit, and brand new Legendary Interiors white leather seats, front and rear, fresh door, seat back, rear quarter and kick panels, refurbished factory steering wheel, and refurbished factory hurst pistol grip shifter. Dash pad is in excellent shape. Freshly rebuilt rally gauge cluster, speedo, tach, clock, gauges, all in perfect working order. all lights, radio, heater, function factory correct. The body is all original rust free sheet metal, with a quality red paint scheme, with white AAR strobe stripe, (with custom “426 hemi” logo in place of AAR logo). The satin black accents on hood, door tops, grill, tail panel and spoilers are all freshly painted. The fiberglass AAR hood has been massaged to look and fit great. The trunk has a factory look, complete with jack, spare, and proper mats. The car is rolling on period correct rally wheels, 15x8 in the rear, 15x7 in the front, with Goodyear Polyglas rubber on all four corners for that period correct look and feel. L 60 series out back, and F 60 on the fronts, to accent the original AAR “big and little” look, but with a little more rubber out back to harness that power. Vinyl top is in good condition as well, no tears or wear, and the tonneau cover is in great shape as well. This car has been meticulously gone through, all systems, from head to toe, and they work perfectly. The car looks, feels, sounds, everything that a pedigree Mopar like this should. Very far and few between, a classic 1970 Hemi Cuda convertible is what legends are made of, and do not come up for sale often, in this caliber.
