1970 OLDSMOBILE 442 CONVERTIBLE 455 ROCKET OLDS V8 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH A/C! 100% MATCHING NUMBER CAR IN STORAGE SINCE 1980 UNRESTORED Hello Rare 442 Collectors! What we have just posted here is a Very Unique and Rare Unrestored 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible! This Unreal Fantastic Storage Find has just been fully detailed and cleaned top to bottom and serviced for sale for the first time in 40 years! This "70 442 started life in Topeka, Kansas on August 17th, 1970 at the Vic Yarrington Olds Inc Dealership in Topeka, Kansas. The car was Purchased New by Mr. Leo E. Thomas of Topeka, Kansas, The Clean and Clear Colorado Title. Overall This 70 442 was babied since day one. The car was always maintained and serviced and has had no major damage or mechanical issues of any kind according to the owners. The car was stored away for only summer days only driving low miles since 1981! Loaded with OPTIONS! Factory A/C, Tilt Wheel, Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cruise Control, Am Fm Radio with duel speakers front rear, Power Top, Seat Belts.
Overall this car is as original as i have ever seen in alot of years collecting and restoring classic cars. This one is dry and clean for a unrestored Classic 442. The mileage is not documented but shows clean crisp white numbers at 25,080 which could be 125,080? as is, but drives strong and tranny is new rebuilt very lean

The Factory interior is absolutely original with no bad areas. Original Visors, Door Panels, and Seats, Carpet. The Spare Tire is new, with the factory Jack and all Accessories in good shape. All factory rims. The cars exterior paint is mostly all original with alot of patina and is as shown. No signs of overspray anywhere as in a repaint. Underside is still showing well with minor surface rust with one or two small spots outs. Nothing hidden or rotted! surfaces as it left the factory, NO undercoating on floors! Original Virgin Metal as-is! Please see all the photos to verify this. The cars Glass is all original with dates and codes, the weather-stripping is all original with fit. The window fuzzies are soft and the rubber seals are all good. The convertible top is nice condition with Glass window. Top is Very nice and pliable and soft no splits or tears. The Power top goes up and down very quick and had no issues and good fit! The seals at the windows is also great and tight with no play. The mechanical is great starts and runs with ease and has alot of power with the sought after "442 Motor"! Everything under the hood is close to original. The Heater and the A/C Operate and the A/C will need a recharge, and new compressor at 335 dollars, but it is free and all serviceable, no missing parts, or belts. Rear end is tight and no leaks. Shocks are newer, all function fine. just had a full tune up new filters, fluids, and rebuilt the carb top to bottom. Brakes checked cleaned serviced flushed. Rear end serviced also with new fluid. Automatic Transmission with the Hurst Stick Shifter is Original and totally and completely rebuilt and super strong! Power steering is a little leaky but ok and ready for normal driving. overall a strong great runner ready to cruise with the top down!
main body is very solid and strong has some surface light rusting but nothing that is serious. The trunk is very solid and has only one small spot the size of a dollar needing repaired. The inner lower corners of each door seams are bubbly but are very fixable. see pictures! ! overall a rust free car 95%.
Tires are Newer Fire Hawk Radial Indy 500"s in 225/70/14". All electrical functioning, lights and blinkers and brake lights high beams. Stops true straight, steering is solid and front end was inspected ok. A car to feel confident in, get in and drive, ready to go. Doors, Trunk, Hood, all open and shut great, solid, original keys.
The top black stripes are Original. The Stainless Trim and Chrome Bumpers are all Original. A few dings and dots here and there. The body is super straight with the normal dings small scratches and chips from the miles driven. The car needs nothing and is ready to go. Paint rates out at 6.0 - 7.0 Patina Original
