Vehicle description
You are looking at an Original 1970 Mustang Mach 1. This is an old 80"s Hot Rod that has gone through many changes and modifications over the years. If you are looking for a rust free, numbers matching car, then this is not the car for you. If you are looking for a cool Day 2 Hot Rod Mach 1 to restore and make your own then this could just be the car for you. While this car does need a total restoration, it is still a pretty solid and very complete car from which to start with. This car is going to make someone a nice project!
This car started life as a 1970 Mach 1 sold new at Caccese Motors Inc in Franklinville, NJ and according to the Deluxe Marti Report was optioned as follows:
Medium Metallic Blue Exterior Paint Black Hood Stripe Black Mach 1 Sports Interior 351-2V Windsor Engine FMX Automatiic Transmission 3.00 Traction Lok Rear F70-14 Raised White Letter Tires Power Steering AM-8Track Stereo Tinted Glass
This car has had several motors in it over the years It now has an era correct 351W-2V and FMX back in it. The car still retains its original bulletproof 9 inch rear end. At some point they had a Tilt Front end on the car that flipped forward for engine access and as a result the aprons and radiator support had to be replaced to put an original style front end back on the car, These are fitted and tacked in but will need finishing. This car has also had Big Block Shock Towers added to it as the small block towers were prone to cracking/collapsing and the previous owner chose to upgrade these. The car was done as a mild custom Hot Rod back in the day and the previous owner added the rear wheel flares as well as the "69 Mustang Tail Panel. A Shaker Hood was also added to the car back in the Day and since that was how it was done we decided to keep it as a Day 2 and reinstall the Shaker Hood on the car.
The car does need some rust repair but is not a rotten car by any means. The cowl does leak and will need to be repaired. The floors and torque boxes have some rust but they are not falling out of the car (see pics), and the rear quarters will need some attention due to the flares and on the the lower 1/4"s where they meet the trunk drop. The front and rear frame rails are rock solid on the car. The fenders and door while not perfect are also very good on the car. Trunk floors and trunk opening are in good shape as is the decklid on the car. This car was owned by the last family over 40 years and has been off the road and indoor stored for 25 of those year, thus sparing the Mach 1 from the harsh rigors of the elements.
The Black Mach 1 interior is in very good, serviceable condition and is complete with its Rim Blow Steering Wheel, Center Console, Deluxe Door Panels, Woodgrain Instruments and Clock Panel. The radio was missing when purchased but the car does come with a replacement AM-8Track Radio as well.
The car now rolls on a Set of American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels with OLD SKOOL Mickey Thompson Indy Profile Tires that are staggered with 50 series tires in the back and 70"s up front. They really give this car the Day 2 look and Vibe that just completes that 70"s-80"s Musclecar feel.
This Mach 1 is being sold as a non-running restoration project. This is a great starting point to take this old 80"s Hot Rod and add your personal touches to and make it yours!
This a GREAT car to restore in that it is a REAL 05 Body Code 1970 351 Mach 1 with a Great Original Color Cobination and equipment list.
Will work with your shipper and will assist international buyers with your broker/agent for worldwide shipment.
