Vehicle description
"70 Mercury Montego MX (Merc"s version of the Torino) wagon. Original paint (beyond touch ups) survivor. Original interior, including headliner and carpets, dash is very nice with one small crack. Body is pretty straight, with some bumps, bruises, chips and scratches. Does have some rust starting on the lower edges of doors and rear quarters behind the stainless trim. Also, some rust in the splash panels underneath behind the front wheels. The wagon is currently registered and insured and driven locally. It runs and drives very well. There has been extensive maintenance done over the last couple years, including new tires, new brakes and upgrade to power brakes (4 wheel drum).
The wagon originated in Minnesota, where it was used as a second/vacation/lake house car. Later it went to TN where I purchased it. The car has not seen winters during most it"s lifetime, and only driven in summer here in Maine.
I welcome inspections and test drives for those local to my home in southern Maine however, I can bring the wagon to my brother shop in Newbury, MA. directly off Rt 95 for shipping purposes. Feel free to ask questions, I have many more pics, but please just don"t message "send me more pics" as I can only send 5 through the message system. Please be specific. Also, simply asking "what is the reserve" defeats the entire purpose of a reserve auction and is not fair to other bidders. Bid and you will find out. Thank you, Mark.
