Vehicle description
This is a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT. Original numbers matching engine and drivetrain. I don’t really want to sell it, but I lost the lease on the building where I have stored it for the last 20 years and I doubt I will find the time to finish it. I purchased this car in the Los Angeles area of California and drove it home. I started restoring it about 24 years ago. The straight rust free body was completely stripped and repainted in the original color with lacquer paint. The original engine was completely rebuilt and detailed and the engine compartment was also stripped and repainted. The transmission was also rebuilt and detailed along with the drive shaft. The front end and steering were completely rebuilt and detailed using PST poly-graphite parts. Front brakes, Master cylinder and all hoses were recently replaced along with a new fuel pump. The original 4 core radiator was hot tanked and recored. The A/C compressor was rebuilt and a new condenser, evaporator and heater core were installed. All factory markings IE; paint dabs and chalk marks were noted and reproduced. The only body damage is a dent in the passenger’s floor where some idiot used a floor jack in the wrong place (this is rather common with these cars). The paint was perfect, but has blistered in a few places mainly on the rear deck lid. There also are a couple minor dings and chips that occurred in the last 20 years that it has been sitting in the back of my shop. This is a very highly optioned and elegant GT. It looks great with the rare option that deleted the black color below the trim line and the white vinyl top with the Dark Ivy metallic paint. Also lots of luxury options. I have saved all the original parts (vinyl top, headliner, weatherstripping ect) along with LOTS of new parts. I have 99.9% of all the parts and fasteners to complete all labeled as to their location. I have over $20,000 invested and countless hours.
