Gallery Junction is Pleased to offer this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster. This stunning example was built September of 1969 and sold new at Helms Bros. Mercedes-Benz. Originally finished in two tone 423 Tobacco Brown/181 Light Beige with a Cognac MB Tex Interior and Beige Soft Top and Light Beige Hardtop. The original books and window sticker have remained with the car. The original window sticker which is pictured indicates the car came with the following options: 424 4 Speed Manual Transmission 422 Power Steering 440 Bumper Over Riders 600 Chrome Roof Bars 641 White Wall Tires It made its way a few years later to the West Coast and spent the majority of its days in Newport Beach, CA. The current owner purchased the car for his wife to drive and with that in mind, set out to restore the car to every day driver standards. He had the engine rebuilt, transmission and clutch and all mechanical items to make it safe and reliable. The car comes with a binder of receipts and records for the work performed. In addition the chrome and stainless were re-done as well as the interior in addition to other cosmetic and mechanical items. We have walkaround videos and driving videos of the car as well. It truly runs and drives wonderfully.
