The original owner of this Ford Maverick was a gentleman in North Carolina. He kept it in great condition and drove it regularly. I am the second owner. I purchased it nearly a decade ago. I love it, but no longer have the time to enjoy it. It has been stored in my garage for 2020 and 2021. Now I’d like to see someone else drive and enjoy it. The car has lots of the original parts. Any original parts that were replaced with newer ones have been stored in the trunk in case you want to restore them.
The motor is original. You can see in the photos that the Maverick label is there: this is a true Maverick Grabber manufactured in Canada. It has a 120 HP straight-six engine. The transmission was professionally rebuilt within the last year. The gas tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump were all replaced. There are drum brakes.
This Maverick is one of the more unique ones that have both the front emblem and the gas cap emblem. Note that the emblem on the gas tank has a crack. I was never bothered enough to replace it.
The bumpers are in great condition. A few rust spots are present on the back.
I have replaced the carpets. The car mats (while faded) have protected from dirt and dust.
The radio was replaced with a modern one. The original radio is in the trunk. The newer one has an aux-in and URB adapter so you can connect your phone. The speakers in the vehicle aren’t original, and could easily be replaced with high quality ones.
The original seals on the windshield and rear window had cracked and rotted, and the glass had fogged. So I upgraded both to safety glass. The seat belts are the original lap belts. Each has the original emblem on the release button.
A set of new door seals is in the trunk. I never had a chance to put them on. The existing seals still function well, but they’ve shrunk and hardened over time. You can see this in the upper right corner of the doors, where the seal no longer stretches to meet the frame.
The back seats are original, with some patching done. The adjustments are not particularly noticeable. The front bench seat has been replaced with two bucket seats and the steering wheel is not original.
The headlining has also been repaired in a few spots where the stitching came away. There are no visible holes.
The small ceiling light appears to have melted some of its plastic housing. An LED would probably be an easy solution.
The keys for the car appear to be the originals. There is one for the ignition and one for the trunk. Making duplicates would be easy if you wanted to keep the originals safe.
The wheels are approximately 4 years old, and still have a good amount of tread on them.
The 1970 Grabber model did come with an air conditioning unit, but it was not functional by the time I purchased the car.
Many of the body parts actually match Mustangs so it’s common to see people fix up other cars to look like the Maverick Grabber. This one is the real deal. I"ll include the original dealership bill of sale with the car.
This listing doesn"t include the millage on the vehicle as the odometer is unlikely to be accurate. This car is over 50 years old and therefore no warranty or returns are offered. The car is sold as is.

I"ve driven it for hours in the past without a problem and enjoyed every mile. It hasn"t caused me the trouble some other classic cars are known for. The color is called Grabber Orange (as listed on the tags and paperwork). It appears a bit yellow in person, but a Google search of Maverick Grabber Yellow will reveal that a yellow Maverick Grabber is very bright yellow. The Maverick Grabber Orange is more like a school bus yellow. The car"s paperwork confirms it it is a factory-upgraded Maverick Grabber.
