Vehicle description
This is a 1969 Renault Alpine 110A with a 2.0 liter. Engine has been blue printed and balanced 180hp Brand new set of racing webers. This car has been in multiple magazines and has an extensive race history. Very fun to drive extremely fast. Total weight of car is 1400lbs. This car is immaculate one of a kind The Alpine-Renault A110 was no stranger to the racing in the early 1970"s, winning several rally championships throughout the world in 1973 due to its proven performance and handling. Its striking appearance was first penned by Giovanni Michelotti, who was also responsible for lines from Ferrari, Maserati, BMW and other great makes of the period. While initial production was exclusive to France, by 1965 the Mexican Diesel National company (DINA) was given a license and started producing their own A110 under the name of Dinalpin Renault. While in production for 9 years it is estimated that less than 1000 Dinalpins" were constructed. Their exceptional build quality and proven design offered the Mexican Market something uniquely European that was assembled within their own country.
This particular Dinalpin was purchased new in February 1969 and was well cared for by a couple of owners before being purchased in 1997 by a Mr. Juan Antonio Calvillo of Angel Urraza who restored the car into a vintage race car in 1999. The race car conversion was completed so that the vehicle could compete in the Comision Nacional de Automoviles Clasicos de Competencia A. C. (CNCC) section of the Federacion Mexicana De Automovilismo Deportivo A. C. (FEMADAC). During his 17 years of racing with the car Mr. Calvino would take home three championships in several categories, as well as multiple awards in rally races. In 2011, Dinalpin was shown at the Gran Concurso Internacional de Elegancia where it took home a 3rd place trophy. The vehicle has been photographed numerous times for brochures, newspaper articles, and the February 2014 Mexican issue of the watch magazine “Revolution”, where it was featured on the cover as well as in a five page spread.
Finished in classic and desirable Metallic Blue with a beautiful black interior, this A110 still wears its vintage race livery with 4-wheel disc brakes, 55 liter gas tank, aluminum radiator, racing seats with Simpson 5- point harness belts, full roll cage, Cibie Rally lights and custom dash board with full toggle switches controlling all major components. Power is derived from a fully machined, 2-liter Renault 18 engine with dual Weber 45 carburetors that is pushing well over 180hp to the rear wheels. It comes with stacks of documentation including past registrations, three full photo albums of racing photos, copies of vehicles media appearances, extra racing decals and patches, as well as its original owner"s manual, bill of sale and an original sales brochure! We are proud to offer this Dinalpin to the most astute collector or alert investor who desires to own one of the best! Ready to make an investment that you can actually enjoy
