(772) 318-4117 (772) 318-4117 Video 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge - Frame-Off Restoration Exterior Color: Carousel Red Interior Color: Black Transmission: Automatic Drivetrain: RWD Mileage: 19,344 Pontiac first introduced the GTO as an optional package on its Tempest model in 1964. Credited with starting the Muscle Car rage, the GTO moved on the become its own model in 1965, with all major automakers quickly introducing a model to challenge its success. With an emphasis on street racing; the GTO was a clear front-runner among muscle cars. in 1968, Pontiac restyled the GTO, providing a more curvaceous body with semi fastback styling. New design features included horizontally aligned headlights, hidden wipers and optional hidden headlights. The "68 GTO"s design was a significant departure from the model"s first-generation styling but was extremely well received. For the 1969 model year, small changes were made including a slight grill and taillight revision, rear side marker lamp changes and the ignition key being moved to the steering column. Also in 1969, Pontiac wanted to create a high performance, lower priced, version of the GTO that would compete with Plymouth"s Road Runner. Taking a basic GTO and adding the Ram Air 400ci V8, Rally II wheels, Hurst Shifter, wider tires, unique decals and a rear spoiler (all at the cost of $332), the GTO Judge was born.
This true 1969 GTO Judge is the result of a 2-year frame-off restoration where nothing on the car was overlooked. Verified by PHS documentation, as well as Vintage Vehicle Services of Canada, this GTO Judge is the real deal. It"s gleaming Carousel Red exterior with black vinyl top, with equally impressive chrome on the outside, carries you into its stunning black interior. Powered by a matching-numbers 400ci/366hp Ram Air III V8 tied to a 3-speed Turbo Hydromatic automatic transmission, this Judge fires right up and is ready to roll. As popularity of late "60s GTOs, especially the Judge, continue to rise, it is becoming more and more difficult to find a collector-worthy example on the market today. This "69 would be a terrific additional to any collection.
Unless stated otherwise, mileage shown on odometer is exempt and unknown if original. Vehicle Description Pontiac first introduced the GTO as an optional package on its Tempest model in 1964.
