Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1969 Pontiac Bonneville is an original. This is offered for sale by the original owner. The vehicle runs great. Vehicle Details It is with a heavy heart that I must part with this ONE family owned vehicle, to finance another build I am doing. This beautiful Bonneville was purchased new on February 17th, 1969 by Dr John Greenlaw at Dick Lewis Pontiac in Olympia Washington. Dr. Greenlaw's love for this car is very apparent to this day. It was a beloved member of the family until his passing, in which his adult son aquired the car. Sadly, he too passed away and the grandson aquired the car. This is whom I purchased the vehicle from this year. As noted in the pics, I have ALL the original documentation from when the car sold new, including a follow up letter written in March of 69, thanking Dr Greenlaw for his purchase. This pristine Pontiac has been garaged all of its life and its excellent condition attests to that assertion. No smoke and mirrors, no urban legends, just one family's documented love affair since new. The car retains 100% of its original cloth interior. It retains 95% of its original "Mayfair Maze" paint. Chevrolet called this color Butternut Yellow. (There is one small spot repair near the right rear tailight from a minor incident, but we don't wanna point any fingers at Grandpa!) The white painted top is also original. All of the drivetrain is 100% original to the car. The car also retains all of its original date coded tinted glass, to include the windshield, which has two small rock chips worth noting. As you can see the bottoms of the fenders, rear quarters, & doors have ZERO cancer in them. We do not use salt on our roads in Washington, thus classic cars that have spent the duration of their life here are very solid and this is an above average example of that due to it always being garaged and pampered. The Floorplans and trunk are spotless. I have several more photos upon request. Taking a look inside you'll see very minimal wear considering this is a cloth seat equipped car. The drivers seat area has a small separation beginning at the seam. There is also some minor staining on the seat at the same location, that im sure a steam cleaning would remedy. The headliner, package tray, dash pad and door panels are all flawless. Check out that glamor shot of the scroll details in the seat pattern. Center fold down armrest and Deluxe Seatbelts let you know you are riding in luxury. The steering wheel is perfect in every way. All of the dash controls, lights, gas gadgets and radio work perfectly, to include the optional rear seat fader control for the rear seat speaker. Cigarette lighter and under dash courtesy lamp also work. The dome light does not. The heater core is temporarily bypassed due to a leak so this will need addressed. It should be noted that one week after purchasing the car from the original family I embarked on a 600+ mile trip over the mountain pass in 90 degree weather, so a heater was not needed. The car performed effortlessly! That big cube 428 comes to life at 80 mph let me tell ya. The car drove true and straight. No death wobble, no inconspicuous noises, no pulling to the left or the right, just pure driving pleasure. The car is equipped with dual exhaust system and it sounds like the baffles are going out in the drivers side muffler, so if you prefer an OEM sounding exhaust, a new muffler should be on your checklist. The car has matching all season radials on it that are in excellent shape and ready for any road trip that you have in mind. If you like shiny objects, take a look at those chrome bumpers. Straight outta Detroit baby! In fact, all of the exterior brightwork and stainless retain their original luster, to include the drivers side optional remote mirror. Get a good look at that grill too! Absolute perfection finished off with all 4 original T3 headlights. The center nose cone does have the typical cracking in it that ALL Pontiacs with this type of polyurethane nose have. Hey, the car needs to have at least one flaw! In a day and age when everyone thinks their clapped out $#*box is worth a mint, I feel a clean, unmolested original car with good pedigree and documentation in this price range is an absolute no brainer. It has too many doors you say? That's okay, you can go overpay for a two door with shiny wheels and its 7th powerplant under the hood. Leave this one for the purists who appreciate it for what it is, automotive history. Thanks for looking! The price on the car is $10,500. If you don't have $10,500 budgeted for your classic car purchase, then this car is not for you. $500 non refundable deposit is due within 48hrs of auctions close. 16 year trusted ebayer seller with 100% feedback. The license plate, floormats and cooler are not included with the sale. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
