Tujunga, CA PRICE REDUCED! NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! Almost made reserve last time. Relisted at low starting price. Ok before anyone gets their knickers in a twist about the rarity of this car (1 of 2 known to have ever been built with 340 4 Speed in the Notchback body style with A53 Formula S package) Some info on the records. 1st. There is no valid record for production on 340 Formula NOTCHBACK! What records exist on 1969 340 formula S cars is problematic for several reasons. A, not all S option cars are formula S as the E55 and A56 cars are also under the S records and B, there is no break out for the true FORMULA S Notchback cars which is A53 option only
.
Due to this records are a mess on this particular car. Here is what I know for sure. Records for only 2 of this car exist period. This one and its sister car that was special ordered and in Canada. It was recently sold non matching number and unrestored for 40K. When I consulted Govier on this car he verified it as a true formula S Notchback 340 4 Speed car. He had no other records on the existence of others in the Notchback body style when I consulted him. I tried to pay him for his records on this car or any others known but he had nothing. Hopefully that makes the argument. Also as of yesterday exactly 1 340 formula S nothchback Automatic has turned up despite hundreds of searches over the last year and a half. I suspect it is also a special order A53 Notchback. NO ONE else has ever been able to turn up the existence of another one. Several thought they had but it turned out they were A56 cars and not true A53 Formula S cars. Records do exist on the fastbacks. It is my guess these records exist because they were regular production and the notchback was special order only. The records indicate some such as the convertible records exist but nothing on the Notchback in actual formula S. Its lumped under “S” only. THAT SAID, This car is fully mechanically restored. Less than 200 miles on the restored drive train. Motor, trans, rear end, shifting linkages suspension brakes etc all new, Upholstery carpet etc all replaced except the seat backs. Dash is quite nice and correct. I have the tach for it. Sorry I dont have the original intake and exhaust package. Older repaint still nice. Good rubber etc. As seen in the images. Super rare 1of only 2 known at this time period. Get a deal. This car is recently 100% mechanically restored and is bad ass. it was cosmetically restored over the last 2 years. Paint is driver good but not top show quality. All mechanicals front to back are totally restored. The original 340 was replace about 1972 with a factory replacement 1971 warrantee motor built to sixpack specs. Totally rebuilt since and has terrific power. The trans 100% rebuilt with new everything and matching numbers. There cars came wit 18 Spline HEMI trannys for race purposes. Original 8 3/4 323 sure grip posi rear end. New interior. brand new correct replacement high ratio 16:1 race steering. New brakes, brake lines. rebuilt front suspension, NICE DASH EVERYTHING WORKS. I HAVE THE TACH FOR IT BUT IT SHOULD BE GONE THROUGH AND UPDATED BEFORE BEING RE-INSTALLED. New upholstery carpets headliner on and on and on. Only the seat back inserts need to be redone.tail finish panel is nice but needs to be sent out for repaint and polish Too much to list. Less than 300 miles on fully rebuilt drivetrain.
Ask anything before bidding. Check images as intake and exhaust are after market all top notch.
This is probably numbers wise the rarest Cuda ever built. Clean title. Turn key drive it away. Absolute steal for the knowing investor. I figure its really worth about double my asking price.
