Here we have for auction a running/drivable 1969 Opel GT 1900 Manual Shift. . I have owned it since 2004,,, but I have known the car & the previous owner since 1977. . The Car is a Southern Car from Alabama with no major rust. . Floors are solid. . The motor runs fine & cranks up without any issues. . burns no oil & use"s no coolant. . The interior is the original black leather that Opel used. . The seats & carpet & headliner are like new. . However the top of the dash is trashed & I just covered it with a dash pad with hopes of pulling it & redoing it one day. . Big Gawdy Horn Button on the dash by the previous owner,,, again,,, I was going to change that. . I can"t swear that the mileage is correct on the odometer either. . Most of the gauges work & kick on when the car is started. . Exhaust system needs attention but is passable. . But the original Twin Exhaust Pipes are not present. . Car is not loud & does not sound like a tractor. . The car as u can see has @ sometime in it"s life been hit on the driver side rear & was unprofessionally repaired. . This too I was going to address. . It"s not as bad as it looks. . But I wanted to make sure everyone see"s it. . Also under the front bumper,,, the original valance & the battery compartment had rusted away & the previous Owner pop-rivetted in a piece of sheet metal as a repair & He did a pretty good job too cause One can"t really see it without laying down under the front bumper. . & speaking of bumpers,,, these are not perfect. . but can be straightened & reclaimed. . No rubber bumper pads are present though. . Under the hood I installed an electronic ignition & coil,,, & installed a modern Alternator to handle any type of aftermarket players & Speakers etc. . The car has not been started since 2015. . However up until then I drove it all the time & it performed well always. . The farthest I"ve ever driven this car in one day was from Decatur,,, Al to Birmingham,,, Al & back. . Around 200 miles,,, @ Highway speeds & it did well without a flaw. . I have other projects going on & I"ll never get back to this one & I need the space it takes up. . Happy Bidding & please ask questions. .
