Vehicle description
You are bidding on a 1969 MGCGT. It is very original and complete. The previous owner bought it in the mid-"70s and kept it until I bought it from his estate about 6 months ago. It has only 96,000 original miles and has not been licensed since the "80s.
This is probably the most rust-free unrestored MGCGT in existence. It has always been a South Georgia car and has never been exposed to cold weather or salted roads. The only rust I could find anywhere on the car is all shown in the pictures, consisting of a few small holes in both front fenders, just in front of the doors, a few small holes on the driver"s door skin about 2 inches up from the bottom, and the front splash panel below the grill. As you can see in the pictures, the floors, sills, inner fender wells, and trunk are completely rust-free.
I do know that the car was running 5 years ago because the previous owner"s son said he got it running and drove it around their farm a few times. I have not tried to turn the engine over by hand, I"d guess it wouldn"t take much to get it running again. This car also has factory overdrive.
The car has never been in an accident. The original color was dark blue, as can be seen in the picture of the trunk area. The black interior is original. All the glass is intact with no delamination or scratches, and the chrome trim pieces for the sides and around the front and rear windows are all present.
