NO RESERVE AUCTION. .Up for sale is my 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 from California (Original Black Plates included). It is a very factory original car and has been restored mechanically from stem to stern and kept as factory original as I could, right down to the hose clamps. The engine was rebuilt and machine work was done by Opel Engineering. Transmission completely rebuilt. Rear end gone over. ALL new steering and suspension components including shocks and springs. New rally wheels and BF Goodrich tires. New radiator, hoses belts, engine electronics. Many new A/C parts. New carpet, padding, front seat covers, dash pad, center console and dash/interior trim. New center console armrest. Trunk completely redone. Solid state upgrade for sequential turn signals. Super solid vehicle. Not a spot of rot anywhere. Custom stripes.
On a scale of 1-10 I give the vinyl top,body and paint a 7. Paint is presentable but not show quality and the vinyl top is original. On a scale of 1-10 I give the interior a 9. Very presentable. Original headliner is in great shape and rear seat is all original as well. On a scale of 1-10 I give the mechanics a 9. EVERYTHING has been done but with old cars, something always needs to be tinkered with.
I have owned this car for many years and have put maybe 500 miles on it. Now I don"t drive it at all and want it to go to someone who will appreciate it and continue to move the car forward. This is a great car for a beginner and I wouldn"t be worried to drive this car anywhere. I have tons of pictures and can answer any questions. I have a lot more invested in this car than I am asking for and i know there has been a lot of work done that I haven"t mentioned.
This car has been kept inside as long as I have owned it. No snow, no rain. I do not need help selling this car and I do not need the money, so please, no low ball offers.
