Vehicle description

NO RESERVE 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 Original Black plate California car restored in 2008. This car is well maintained and kept inside under a car cover for added protection. This is a fun car that that not only looks good, but it is extremely dependable and always turns heads wherever it goes. It has been on club cruises to Yellowstone Park and Mt. Rushmore with no problems. It starts right up, idles nicely, has good throttle response and drives/cruises smoothly. YEAR/MAKE/MODEL: 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 TITLE: Clear and registered till May 2022 VIN: 9F93H563947 MILEAGE: 54,703 on car and less than 20,000 on rebuild. COLOR: Plum Crazy and Black with new Black top and Interior. Paint is in nice condition. TRIM/INTERIOR: XR7 trim, all upholstery including headliner were replaced and in excellent condition. Front bucket seats with a center armrest/glove box. The dash glovebox is full of AC but has MP3 access. INSTRUMENTS: The gauges are factory original. The tachometer does not want to work with the MSD ignition. I am 78 years old and prefer accurate oil/temp so I have two aftermarket gauges on the steering column so I can monitor how the engine is performing at all times. ENGINE: 351 Windsor rebuilt with a mild cam, roller rockers, air gap intake, 650cfm AVS carburetor, MSD ignition and Sanderson Headers. It has a Flowmaster exhaust with chrome tips, sounds nice not too loud. TRANSMISSION: Rebuilt C6 3 speed automatic with floor shifter. REAR END: 9-inch Ford differential with what I believe to be 3.00:1 gears. WHEELS/TIRES: American Racing Wheels with Performance GT Grand Prix Tires P20570R14 in front and P24560R15 in rear. Good tread wear and over 70% tread remaining. ACCESSORIES: Power Steering, Power Brakes (Disk front and drum rear), AM/FM/MP3. Hidden headlights work very well as do the sequential turn signal taillights. AIR CONDITIONING: A new Vintage Air system was installed last year using the factory outlet locations providing air, heat, and defroster.
