1969 Jaguar XKE Series II Roadster
Up for sale 1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster Series II example powered by a 4.2-liter twin-cam straight-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. A refurbishment was performed in 2013, including engine and gearbox rebuilds, metalwork, a repaint in Signal Red, a new soft top, and a reupholstered Biscuit leather interior. Maintenance within the last two years included rebuilt Zenith carburetors, new shocks, front suspension bushings and ball joints, and more as detailed below.
Work completed in 2013 included metalwork and rust repair on the sheet metal and floors, a repaint in Signal Red, new door and lid seals, and a new tan soft top and rear window. Chips are noted on the leading edges. New Cibie front lights were installed in 2016, as were new covers for the side, rear, and indicator lights.
The interior was reupholstered with Biscuit leather in 2013, and the matching carpets, door panels, console cover, and black dash pad were also replaced at this time.
A new rearview mirror was installed and the clock was repaired in 2016, and a speedometer and tachometer repair was performed in 2015. A RetroSound radio is currently equipped, and a period Blaupunkt unit is included in the sale.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, both of which were rebuilt in 2013 with new rings, bearings, seals, gaskets, and a valve job. A new clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing were said to have been installed during the refurbishment, as were a new alternator, starter, and Bell stainless steel exhaust.
