Vehicle description

For sale this week is my very beautiful 1969 Cadillac DeVille convertible. I"m finishing my "68 DeVille convertible and now must make room in the garage. This car was purchased 10 years ago in Vegas and probably had been there for decades. The car has the 472 cube engine with 375 HP as well as the Turbo400 transmission which I had rebuilt at my local AAMCO after evaluating what I bought. The car was a brown over it"s original gold color outside and had a mustard gold interior color when purchased. I stripped the car inside and out and changed the colors to what you see here. The brown color carpet much like the dashpad was changed to the "spice" color you see with new underpadding. The leather was replaced with 4 new buttercream color hides I had sewn into seatcovers and door and side panel pieces. The car already had an aftermarket Alpine sound system broken down in it and I replaced it with a Kenwood AM/FM/ CD Stereo head unit and Sirius Satellite radio transciever so this car can play about 130 channels anywhere. Also has new antenna switch in dash to the rebuilt power antenna. 6 speakers visible in car and a trunk mounted subwoofer and amp powering most of this concealed in fully carpet lined trunk. Spare tire in the trunk matches road wheels with a new car cover in a duffel made for this car to cover it when it gets parked outside. The car has original options such as the tilt and telescopic steering column, the Twilight Sentinel headlamp switch with Auto Dimming
feature too. I repaired the broken Cruise Control cables and therefore don"t know the true miles as the speedo depends on the cable. The car shows 63,325 miles now and everything works correctly as the Cruise Control works too. The Owner"s manual in the glovebox will explain how to use these options. I replaced lots of old parts under the car like the shocks, wheel bearings, seals, brakes, brake booster and master cylinder, U-joints on the driveshaft, steering parts, and got a good fresh alignment for the 5 new big whitewall tire mounted on fresh painted wheels and balanced nice. then the wheelcovers were cleaned, striped again and new center ornaments put on them. The Air conditioning was fixed with a new compressor, a new hose, new dryer and POA valve to allow a R134 freon conversion so
this car uses newer car freon. The exhaust system was replaced and the carburetor rebuilt so this car runs beautiful and will give
many years of enjoyment for its next Master operator. I had new rosewood panels made for all the door panels an the dash panels just like the real wood panels the factory installed. This was the last year for these. The steering wheel was also restored with new rosewood inlay and a new rimblow cord on the inside edge to squeeze and that blows the horns. Most of these cars don"t work and this job takes about $2000. dollars to restore the steering wheel and it"s center pad repainted in the Sable black. This work is done and the wheel is beautiful. I had new keys cut, and there are 2 sets in case there is a need for that. The seatbelts are new and a gold color now and the parts in the buckle and retractors are all rebuilt. Seatbelts for 5, 3 people in front. New cars don"t do that but new cars aren"t this BIG.
The paint job is really fine. The fit of all the parts we spent lots of time to line up and the car was stripped of all paint. New primers and sealers applied carefully and the GM Code 50 Gold used on some Pontiacs like the 70"s Trans Ams. I followed with 2 applications of clearcoat and both times color sanded for a deep shine. All stainless was sent out for polishing and all chrome was redone. New
Cadillac crests were bought and all scripts were replated. New plastic lenses front, side and back were used and a new in the GM box grille was bought for the front of the car. The convertible top is new as is the lift cylinders, cables, hoses, and a new pump was all installed in back before we put the back panels and seat back in.
Please call me almost anytime reasonable in this Pacific time zone if you have questions about this car. My phone to call is (541) 884-9020. I"m hoping this car will find a person wanting something a little different and really fun to drive and own. Please bid to win as these cars don"t come around much anymore for sale and they"re getting harder to restore too. the skilled people are hard to find. Thanks for your consideration for this car.
