“This is a very drivable, numbers matching, original 70,000 mile car. Won the survivors award last season at the Livermore California annual car show with 850 vehicles in competiton. Car runs drives and handles extremely well. The clutch is original and it chatters, but does not slip. There is a brand new clutch assembly in the trunk that comes with the car. The tachometer, the gas guage and the temp guage do not function. All lights, turn signals and stop lites function well. There is some pitting on a couple of chrome pieces, but nothing major.” |

Vehicle description
This 69 AMX is a true survivor in every sense of the word. I found the car several years ago, totally by accident. A friend of mine who knew I was looking for an AMX, overheard a conversation between two gentlemen who were talking about an AMX that was stored in an airplane hanger at a private airport here in Northern California. There are three private airports in this area, which made finding the car fairly easy. We headed out and checked each airport. At the second airport we visited, I asked if anyone knew of this particular AMX and the gentleman I was talking to pointed at a hanger and said the cars in there. The owner came down and we uncovered the car and pushed it outside. We put jumper cables on it, fired the motor, drove it around the private airport and I bought it. The gentleman I bought the car from is the original owner. The name on the California title matches the name on the protect-O-plate. The miles are original at just over 70,000. According to the gentleman I bought the car from, the Poly Glass Good Year tires are the second set the car has had since new. The motor has never been apart and it runs extremely well. If you put your foot in it, you will smoke the rear tires off the car. The clutch is original and it does not slip, but it does chatter. There is a brand new complete clutch assembly in a box in the trunk. The original orange rim mini spare and filler bottle are also in the trunk. A friend of mine encouraged me to enter the car in the large Livermore Car show last season as a survivor. The judges were all over the car and it won the class. There are not a lot of AMX"s around and they have gone up in value every year. The only reason I am selling the car is, I have too many projects and I am completely out of room. I drive this car quite a bit because it"s fun and it"s fast. It goes straight down the highway at 70 miles per hour with no shimmies shakes or vibrations. If you are looking for an investment grade car, this is the one. I purposely did not detail under the hood, so the buyer can see the motor is all original and unmolested. The car is located in Northern California about an hour from San Francisco. If you have questions or would like to see it, just send me as note, or call me at (925) 437-4701. I do ask that you DO NOT bid if you are not able to pay for the vehicle. I do post negative feedback for buyers who don"t pay. If you have zero feedback or negative feedback, you need to contact me before you bid, otherwise, I will cancel your bid. Read my feedback, I describe what I sell accurately, so you can bid with confidence.
