Vehicle description

I am a VW Bus guy, but when I saw this Volvo under a neighbors carport hidden behind some junk, I instantly knew this was a cool car. Of course I ended up buying it from the old guy, who was the second owner from a doctor in California who was the original owner. As you can see by the pictures, this car is a survivor and in amazing shape with no structural damage other than bubbling paint and some rust in areas. I began detailing the B18 engine and rebuilding the SU Carbs, but then decided to get her running before the restoration phase and took it to an iconic vintage Volvo shop in Seattle. Two months and over $6,500 later, I cruised the 45 minute drive back home with a confident smile on my face, because I was amazed at how smooth she ran after sitting for 20+ years.
All mechanicals were either restored to their proper functionality or where replaced with specific Volvo parts to keep as true to the original car as possible and I have all of the receipts for the parts and services required to legally put her back on the road. I wanted her to look as good as she runs and have begun the restoration phase by removing all of the interior accept the headliner which is the current state she is in. (I have a new found respect for the restoration process, because the teardown is painstaking and takes hundreds of hours to do it right and not damage irreplaceable parts) .
There is a hole in the floor by the e-brake and one of the out rigger caps is gone, but overall the floor pan and undercarriage are in great shape. As for the bubbling paint, it is very common in the 1800S and should be expected for her age and how she was stored. I also have 5 original Zenith wire wheels from Campbell California ( with RARE Volvo knock-off caps ) that were a special purchase option back in "68, but would also need to be restored. Lastly, I can say with absolute certainty that she will run no problem and before I took her apart, everything was working on the dash except the lighter, clock, one windshield wiper blade (cable is broken) and the tranny overdrive switch worked perfectly.
Now here’s the part where I say something cliche like, “my loss is your gain”, yada yada yada. But I have found myself in a position where I can no longer continue with this project and hope that you are the person who can either pick up where I left off on the restoration, or just put her back together and drive off into the sunset (another cliche).
Thanks for looking!
