Seller"s Notes This is a brand new build . I reserve the right to end auction early. Very fair reserve and buy it now. PS. Sorry about the pictures I normally do a much more seanic background but the weather had me indoors. I will post others later and you can request also. Vehicle Details 1968 Original Myers Manx serial number 1442 . Including the original Manx vin plate. This is a brand new build. Title as a 1968 Volkswagen. This original Manx is already in the Manx archives with both matching body and chassis vin numbers and just needs transfer in your name for a small fee Winnie Myers will include a certificate of authenticity and new front and rear badges and dash plate. There is no question as it being a real one. So you don’t have to guess or woundering what has been done I am listing in detail what has been done and what is new and what is original. I am a old school guy with a lot of experience in classic cars so my intent was to keep all the original Manx parts as possible from the original build back in 1968 . The vin says that this was built in 1968 and have described the build to Bruce back a year ( RIP) he thinks it could have been one that the Manx people actually built because of the way all the body mounted tabs were built and the old wiring ect. cannot confirm that because no records of there builds were kept “ but it looks like they built it “ . I am assuming you know somewhat about the Myers Manx story so this low number survivor is very rare and getting almost impossible to find or buy now days. As to the artist works being made priceless after the artist death makes them even more valuable. Unfortunately we did lose Bruce this year. So here’s the details from front to back, again tried to keep it as close as possible to the original. To start with the pan was professionally sandblasted and painted with a high grade trunk bed liner material and new gas and steel brake lines were run. The classic chrome wheels fit the time era. The front chrome bumper is original and in pretty good shape has some small scuffs on the bottom you can’t see, the headlights are new as the old ones were to far gone. The turn signals are original, the original windshield was broken new glass will be installed before delivery. Check out the great looking dash with the new classic knobs and super looking gauges. I just love the look and the gauge and all the lights all work. The oil temp gauge point is broken off. Has the original key. New wiring through out and done right with fuses and extra grounding bar . New neat looking turn signal switch. Original neat steering wheel. The interior is new and all the panels are removable, the material is Home Depot and very inexpensive but done that way on purpose to keep replacement costs low and you can use the old for patterns. The seats are new UTV’s with sliders. The tail lights, license plate light, and rear bumper are original, also has the original skid plate. The paint is 3 coats of base and 2 coats of clear. Paint job is good but not show perfect. If you had to have it perfect you could 1500 wet sand and have a good painter put on the perfect final coat , very easy but up to you. All the brake systems including hoses and steel line, master cylinder, brake cylinders are new . Now the engine I got with it was far to radical and hard to keep tuned and I having owned several of these can tell you the perfect motor for no hassle and reliable running and something you’re wife can drive is the 1835 duel port single carb that I had the best VW engine guy build. Has Amisol break in oil in it and will need to be changed out at about 300 miles hopefully you will use Amisol oil at that time. You cannot use the power of the big motors because they will want to lift the front end and you lose steering safety. Engine has the Eagle 90 cam which gives you the power you need. New Auto Zone 12 volt battery with alternator. New keeping with the correct era it has new great sounding bazooka exhaust. The transaxle has been gone through by the best 78 year old VW specialist that ships transaxels all over the USA and new seals and output shaft are new. Now if you want to freshen up you will find all of the lights and bumpers ect. very inexpensive on line here on as for me keep it original as possible. The Myers Manx badges are mock up and not real. I have tons of pictures of the build as it was progressing. If you have questions please call anytime 24/7 but leave a message I don’t answer unknown numbers. Call Please Note this is offered on other sites so I reserve the right to end auction early. All ligit offer s will be considered. This is a brand new Manx that is buyable as the reserve is much lower than the market says it’s worth. If you are woundering about the seller please take a minute check out my written reviews I am pretty proud of them. The big auction houses say the catalog price would have been mid 20s.
