Vehicle description
For Sale - 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. Clear title (note that odometer is currently functioning, however, milage is not correct) Dark blue (VW Blue - really more of a navy). 1500 cc engine w/1600 dual port heads (engine is not original to this car). Good running condition, very little rust, structurally sound, and great driver. This is the fourth VW I"ve owned and this is as rust free as you are likely to find in the mid-west US. Some paint bubbles and surface rust at the bottom of the driver"s door. Heater channels Engine has a small oil leak from the driver"s side valve cover. Battery compartment is solid. There were two rust holes in the driver"s side rear floor plan, both were patched with POR-15 putty and coated with POR-15 paint. Per previous owner, car received a body off restoration that was completed in 2004. I have owned the car since 2015 and have stored it inside and never driven it in the winter. I have replaced the entire brake system (including a German master cylinder), including lines, had the carb rebuilt, replaced the CV joint boots, and installed new fuel lines. Tires have a good amount of tread left and the battery is about a year old. Interior is clean, carpet and seat covers are due for a refresh. Paint quality is inconsistent, it appears that someone may have tried to refresh the paint and was too aggressive resulting in removing some of the paint. Fading on hood, top, and rear deck (engine) lid. Horn and reverse lights do not work. Please excuse the glare on the pictures taken outside. Car is for sale locally - seller reserves the right to end the auction early. Car sold as-is, where-is. No warranty is expressed or implied. Please contact me via Ebay with questions or if you want pictures of a specific part of the vehicle. On Jul-17-18 at 13:59:41 PDT, seller added the following information: The third bulleted item was cut off - Heater channels are in good condition. Light surface rust but I cannot find any areas where they are rusted through. The vehicle was undercoated by the previous owner although it is peeling in some areas.
