Documented Investment Grade Collector cars are getting very hard to find but here is a nice documented 3 owner Shelby being offered for sale.
1968 Shelby GT350 Cobra Mustang Convertible #2654, 1 of 214 four speed convertibles built. 1 of 17 built with the factory 3.89 Ratio Rear Axles. This Shelby was delivered to Pletcher Ford in Jenkintown, Pa. on 5/18/68. Note there has never been a front tag bracket installed since it was being delivered to PA.
This Shelby retains it"s original matching numbers 302 engine, 4-speed transmission and rear with 52,700 original miles, with original factory/dealer warranty book and original factory issued build sheet , original keys and Deluxe Marti Report. Letters from the Original Owner to the Second Owner talking about all the adventures they had with the Shelby during their time of ownership. This Shelby is listed in the Shelby American World Registry book and also includes a Limited Edition #371 "Shelby Mustang Fifty Years " autographed by Chuck Cantwell and personalized to the this Shelby which is included with the sale.
The Original Owner purchased this Shelby brand new while studying to be a Pharmacist. He owned the car from 5/5/69 until 3/29/78 when it was purchased by the Second Owner who lived 5 miles away. I purchased the car from the Second Owner in May of 2016. This Shelby has lead a pampered life !
This Shelby was born Lime Metallic but the Second Owner did not care for the color and had the Shelby Professionally prepped and painted with the rare special order 1968 Ford Coral - Color Code WT-5185. in June of 2011. The paint is Show Quality !
This Shelby is in perfect condition and needs nothing but sunny days and car shows. The interior is original except the carpets and door panels. I have new seat covers waiting to be installed but the originals are still to nice. The Power Top works perfectly!
