After spending some time blocking fraudulent user accounts, I"m giving this a 3rd and final shot. If you"re going to click bid please BE SERIOUS. If you are the winning bidder, I will consider that a contract to purchase this car . Seller fully reserves the right to end the auction early. I am not here to waste anyone"s time, so PLEASE do not waste mine. This is a very honest description, and I have absolutely nothing to hide with this car. The previous "sales" did NOT fall through due to any reason other than the winning bidders attempting to defraud me and waste everyone"s time. Read description. Thanks! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Built on August 25th, 1967, this early production "68 Fastback was originally Sunlit Gold with a Nugget Gold interior. Factory C-Code 289 2bbl, C4 automatic, with console and sport-deck rear seat, power brakes and power steering.
Factory rad-cradle tag still in tact, and matches dash tag.
At some point in the mid "80s, this Pony appears to have underwent a restoration, and several things were changed. The current 289 is running, however appears to be from a "66, and is not believed to be original to the car. The automatic was replaced with a 4 speed. Console was removed, and the colors of the interior were changed. As you can see, the original bucket seats were replaced with that from a 65 or 66. However, the factory "Sport Deck" fold down rear seat (although now black) is still there, functions very well, and appears to be in very decent shape.
As for the body, this car still looks respectable from a distance, but the older restoration is beginning to show its age. It appears new quarters were installed, however rather poorly. They were overlapped, riveted on, and "puttied". . which was of course a common practice back then. The trunk appears to be in fairly decent shape, with no known major issues, and a new gas tank installed. Frame appears solid, although work was done on the rear frame rails, with some ugly welding evident. Floors look decent, however they are covered in undercoat, and it is unknown what the metal looks like underneath. In my opinion, to do the car properly, it will presumably need both rear quarters, as well as floors. Torque boxes are in surprisingly good shape, as well as the rockers and inner fender aprons/shock towers, which all appear solid. Fenders are fiberglass. Doors are solid.
ALL glass and chrome is in very nice shape, and is absolutely reusable.
If you want the car put back to original, I do have a complete C4 transmission which could be included if mutually agreed upon between the buyer and seller. *The C4 is for a 70 however*. Also available is an automatic console, which is black, and not from a nugget gold interior. Again, if mutually agreed upon prior to auction close, and these parts are currently *not* included with the car.

As so much of this car has been changed, in my opinion, it would make a great candidate for a restomod or an Eleanor/Bullitt tribute. Or just freshen it up and drive as is!
