I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THESE CAR"S, The 1968 xr7 G Mercury cougar is not cheap! serious enquiries only. . ! Very Rare Hertz rent a racer, Cougar is beautiful. . . . Marty report, big block FE 4bbl S code automatic C-6 (We have been informed the engine may not be a 390 but it is a FE Big Block One guy said its a 4 bolt main engine a 427, 428 etc. . We just don"t know. We"ve all heard of the Shelby GT350-H before. In short, it was the Cobra-289-powered Ford Mustang, thoroughly massaged by Shelby and loaned to the public by Hertz. These "rent-a-racecars" were popular with SCCA racers, with some coming back with leftovers from roll cages and other tell-tale signs of abuse. But the forgotten sibling of the Shelby GT350-H is the Shelby Cougar XR7-G; something of a big brother to the small-displacement 289ci Ford. "The Hertz XR7-G came with the 325hp S-code 390ci GT engine, C6 automatic transmission, power front disc brakes, power steering, tilt steering, air conditioning, and an accessory gauge pack installed by Shelby. Another unique feature was the retractable sunroof installed by American Sunroof Company. The XR7-Gs were originally shipped with Rader wheels, manufactured by the Trans American Products Company. However, there were issues with the wheels cracking, leaking air, or failing catastrophically. Ford issued a recall, replacing the Rader with a set of styled chrome steel wheels as seen here." . We are getting emails and calls from all over the country from as far as Canada . . but still no one has come out to buy this rare car, car is listed in other sales flyers and club web sights as well.
