Vehicle description

You are viewing an extremely nice example of a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7. In addition, it is also considered to very rare with an optional factory 4 speed manual transmission. When this vehicle was new, it was brought to market as an upscale competition for a Ford Mustang. With its sequential taillights and factory leather, it was opulent in comparison. Finished in Augusta Green over Saddle Leather, it is a stunning example to look at, with its colors complimenting the car and the era. It was sold new to Kenneth Frazer of Freeport, N.Y. on October 21, 1967 from the selling dealer, S & R Lincoln-Mercury Inc. of Rockville Center, N.Y. The car retains the original Buyers Order, Bill of Sale, and Sales Brochure from that day. This example is in excellent condition. The paint has been redone nicely years back and shines beautifully, and the interior is believed to be original and in outstanding condition. The car was ordered with a unique option list consisting of: a 4-speed manual transmission, Power Transfer Axle, Sport Console with Clock, Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Whisper-Aire Conditioning, AM Radio (now an 8 Track), Tinted Glass, Deluxe Rear Shoulder Belts and Style Steel Wheels. The Original Window Sticker is included as well showing these option and their prices.
The engine and drivetrain are original with a 302 V8 and are in perfect working order ready to be driven anywhere its new owner would like to go. The car comes with its books, tools, spare, window sticker, binder with invoices that go back to 1999 along with a box of period correct 8 track tapes. This car not only looks great, but also drives as nice as it looks. Truly a appreciating classic and something that you will not see at your average car show.
