Vehicle description

1968 Mercury Cougar light restomod; original factory AC car. A blast to drive, can"t tell you how many times people have followed me to ask about it or asked me to awkwardly reach over and roll down the passenger window to give compliments! Clean NC title. Only looking to sell because we have our first kid on the way.
Many recent upgrades including power front disc brakes with new brake lines, 15" mercury style chrome rims, very little use on the year old BF tires, Dakota digital gauge cluster and GPS speedometer sender, new Vintage air AC/heat system that blows cold, Forever sharp steering wheel, new carpet and dynamat underlayment, engine/trans gasket + fluids cleaned and flushed/refreshed when bought, new Accel electronic ignition system, LED reverse + brake and interior lights, double DIN touch screen radio with Apple car play, new Panasonic kick panel and deck speakers, new neutral safety switch, new starter. All modifications made with thought to easily convert back to original if wanted. Multiple original pieces go with the car.
Solid underside - garage kept currently and with prior owner who owned for decades. Not the original engine, PO reported replacement with a 302 sbf. C4 automatic transmission that shifts cleanly. Engine runs strong; have a video available if interested. Shines on the road with solid responsive steering, very little slack in the steering. All electrical is in working order including sequential turn signals in the rear. There is likely a very small vacuum leak from the passenger side actuator of the headlight door as the doors stay closed and correctly open but do not return closed by themselves.
PO did cut out rust and body worked the driver side rear wheel well; appears to be done well and holds a weak magnet but was not truly repainted. Overall the paint is good for driver quality but is just that and probably was sprayed over 15 years ago. I have the base coat color information from diamont to match. Small oil leak at the bell housing.
