1968 Mercedes 280 SE Project Car ~ It Does Not Run Or Drive At This Time. This is a vintage old 1968 Mercedes 280 SE 4 Door that is being offered for sale as a restoration project. It needs to be restored. It has a Fuel Injected 6 Cylinder Engine and Automatic Transmission. It does not run or drive at this time. It was a running driver and it was parked because the electric fuel pump failed and he never got around to fixing it. The windows are stuck up. It has all four tires, it rolls and can be winched onto a car hauler. The brakes may not work. The interior and exterior of this car needs a full restoration job. It has been sitting for an extended period of time and he does not know what works or does not work anymore. This car can be restored but it needs a good home and TLC. The interior woodgrain is failing and needs to be restored or replaced. The headliner is discolored and stained. Various other parts of the interior may be discolored or stained and need cleaning, restoration or replacement. The paint is failing, it does not run or drive, there is a small dent in the drivers door and the mirror head is missing from the same side as shown in the pictures. There is a small rust hole on the bottom of the left drivers side front fender and there is rust along the bottom on the left drivers side "please see pictures". You will be dealing with rusted and corroded parts inside and out, just one example is the throttle linkage is stuck. It has several imperfections and defects common of a 50 year old car. This is a proud old Mercedes and when restored it is sure to attract attention. This old Mercedes has been sitting for awhile and needs cleaning, a full restoration, paint and a lot of attention, please consider all of this before bidding.
