Vehicle description
Matching numbers E-Type, an early series 1.5 coupe being the 71st example produced, documented with a Heritage Certificate. The XKE underwent a full restoration in 2017 before being sold at auction in 2018, when I purchased it. 4.2-liter inline-six engine matching numbers and original to the car , featuring triple SU carburetors mated to a four-speed manual transmission with a newly installed clutch. Finished in British Racing Green, the exterior received a complete professional repaint from the original color during its restoration! Upgraded items include: - an auxiliary thermostatically controlled cooling fan as well as a PerTronix electronic ignition, which was added inside the distributor cap. - Features specific to the Series 1.5 examples include open headlights along with tail lights mounted above the rear bumperettes, which are original to the car. - Chrome cladding was re-plated or replaced during restoration. The wing mirrors had been affixed to the bonnet prior to my acquisition, which I moved to the correct position on the doors while eliminating the previous mounting holes. . The black leather interior underwent restoration, receiving new seat leather and foam, headliner, carpet set, dash top, door panels and interior panels. The car is fitted with the original toggle switch dashboard, including the AM radio. Interior chrome accent pieces have been replaced during the 2017 restoration. - Behind the restored wood-rimmed steering wheel sits factory instrumentation, including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer and a five-digit analog odometer displaying 72,990 miles, which is believed to be original. . - Chrome plated knock-off 15” wire wheels are rounded out by Vredestein Classic Sprint tires measuring 185/70 all around. This car needs nothing just a new driver who will take very good care of it as I did. Undercarriage is solid and clean. Overall a great drivers car, upgraded and sorted for reliable driving, events & shows. Includes car cover and manuals.
