Vehicle description
This 1968 Jaguar 420 has spent its life in Canada and was acquired by myself in 2020 from its second owner of 42 years.
The car is finished in dark blue over a blue interior and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Recent work included cleaning the carburetor and replacing the spark plugs. This Jaguar 420 is now offered with service records, manufacturer’s literature, a toolkit, brand new OEM 420 chrome hubcaps (please view pictures: imitation wire wheel hubcaps NO LONGER come with vehicle), and Quebec registration.
portedly from its second owner of 42 years. The car is finished in dark blue over a gray interior and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Recent work included cleaning the carburetor and replacing the spark plugs and valve cover gaskets. This Jaguar 420 is now offered on dealer consignment with service records, manufacturer’s literature, a toolkit, a spare set of hubcaps, and clean Quebec registration. The car is said to have been repainted in its current dark blue in 1981 and features chrome bumpers, trim, and side mirrors: please note that it is a driver quality paint job, with a few touch-ups and imperfections as expected but still shows very well. The 15″ steel wheels are mounted with Firestone Precision Touring tires that measure 205/70. Rust is noted on the brake discs from lack of use. The 420 is now equipped with a set of OEM chrome hubcaps and rings. The interior still wears its original blue leather with matching door panels and features a contrasting black dashboard with wood trim. Wear is noted on the front seat upholstery as seen in the pictures but this could be easily tackled by a leather specialist to give it back its former glory or keep it original! Clock and radio are inoperable. A two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome ring frames instrumentation that consists of a 140-mph speedometer and a 5,500 rpm-tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by myself. The 4.2-liter inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The spark plugs were replaced and the carburetors were recently cleaned and adjusted. The car smokes black indicating that it would benefit from a full carb cleanup. Transmission shifts in all gears. Engine does not burn oil, but seems to be leaking from oil pan seal. Manufacturer’s literature, service records from new, owners manual and the ultra rare and COMPLETE original Jaguar toolkit are included in the sale. This alone is a very valuable piece that can fetch up to 2500$ at a swap meet! Do not miss the opportunity to own this stunning original survivor, never restored, only repainted once, from 2 previous owners with all original manuals, invoices from new. Experienced seller with positive feedback looking to offer the best experience. Buyer responsible for shipping costs, duty, taxes or any fees encountered by the purchase of this vehicle. I can provide the contact for a quick, affordable and reliable Nation wide shipping company from Canada to the United States that will make this purchase a breeze. Best of luck!
