Vehicle description
Hi All - I just recently bought this off about a month ago but a Scout 2 project fell in my lap and I am unfortunately going to part ways with this 68 travelall. It surprisingly has almost everything you need but it is not road worthy yet and looks ugly, but she"s a survivor and the bones are there. I started to break it down to prep for body work so it is a mess in some of the photos.
Engine - I am not sure what size, haven"t looked yet but it is one of three options per the placard on the image which is mounted in the engine bay. It is an automatic 4x4. It does run, as of last month, but I ran it off a exterior gas tank and since I started stripping the dash and wiring out it may require a rewire to start up.
Fuel - tanks are not installed, I took them both off to clean and restore them but did not get to this - both included in auction.
Brakes - are there, not sure if they work - never drove this vehicle.
Body - most of the exterior trim is included and accounted for but both front fender trim is missing. Rear travelall emblems included. Interior trim is almost all complete. All included as well. All the doors have window regulators, some have cranks installed, I have cranks and misc items in a box that will come with the auction - arm rests are all there, a lot missing on the truck in the pictures I pulled to prep for body work and have in a box that will go in the truck when sold. Hood is included, I had pulled it off to work on the engine - I will place the hood in the cargo section of the truck when shipped. I have the front grille too, bucket lights for the nose, radio dash plate, front and rear bench seat, etc.
Tires - whoever owned it before has smaller in the front and larger in the back - back right tire is flat hence the lean of the traveall. There are a couple spares that came with it and is included in the auction.
Windows - except for the windshield, which is covered in dry moss, is is the only glass to have cracks. the door windows roll up and down and there are no cracks in the glass, the back curved glass is clean as well, no cracks and worth thousands of dollars by itself. tailgate glass no cracks, goes up and down manually - but the tailgate is stuck in position - I have not had a chance to see why it is stuck and wont fold down.
Rust - there is plenty of it at both R and L cowl sections - see one of the pictures I attached. I did not dig in to the L side yet, that is a picture of the R side cowl. The rest of the body is in great shape. It is just dirty with dirt in the normal places like door jams, corners - needs a good power wash but the floors are in great shape. The floor board cargo area that is plywood is rotted and I began taking that out.
Title - I have the title from when I bought it a month ago and paid to transfer it to my name in CA DMV system but I have not verified the VIN yet as you need to drive to their location to verify the VIN. Since I can"t drive this to get the VIN verified by CHP you will get the title from the previous owner I purchased it from and copies of my DMV paperwork and a bill of sale - whatever you need - I"ll work with you.
I want to sell this whole. I will not part this out unless it does not sell.
Please ask me any questions you may have - I will do my best to answer them - I am very accessible and respond to email quickly. All sales final - no returns. You can arrange shipping if you need - I will help and be present when tow truck arrives. For sale locally and can be pulled down as well. Local visits ok as well. Please reach out.
