Vehicle description
You are bidding on a very well preserved 1968 International Harvester 908c Pickup truck with 304 V8 engine.
This pickup truck has been in the same family since day 1, when it was bought new in 1968.
It was been very well cared for and had been babied all its life. The original engine (266 V8) was replaced in February 1982 with a factory rebuilt 304. This engine has 29,000 miles on it. The truck was repainted (in its original marine blue color) in 1991.
The truck has been parked inside a garage for the last 29 years, and only driven about 30 miles a year since then, for exercise and maintenance. The odometer reads 28,908, but stopped working in 2014. Actual milage is estimated to be 29,000.
Timeline of maintenance:
1982 - New 304 V8 engine 1991 - New Paint matched to original color 1994 - New Clutch 1997 - Spark plugs replaced 1998 - Replaced alternator, voltage regulator and fuel pump 2000 - New Alternator, brake linings and cylinders 2001 - New Valve cover, gaskets, replaced carburetor , replaced belts 2003 - Minor tune-up 2007 - New water pump and thermostat, c arburetor overhaul 2012 - Back up lights repaired 2013 - Brake hoses, fluids, wheel bearings and door locks repaired
Routine Service done every 6-12 months during ownership of vehicle.
No major body damage or rust. The odometer stopped working in 2014, and the gas gauge only registers up to 3/4 a tank even if actually full.
Comes with original manual and all maintenance paperwork. Comes with original toolkit supplied with truck (shown in photo).
Runs fine with a little TLC that any 50 year old truck would need.
This truck is a classic Americana showpiece that turns heads.
Truck is located in Santa Maria, California, for pick up.
