About this vehicle This 1968 Ford Mustang is a restored vehicle with updates to the drivetrain. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle runs great and is not regularly driven. Seller"s Notes Funds must clear before possession of the car can be taken. Car located in southeast Michigan, 48036 Vehicle Details I am aiding my parents in the sale of their 1968 mustang fastback. Originally a white automatic 289 car, now orange 428 with a C6 transmission. This was a restoration started about 30 years ago. Always garage kept and long ignored. Odometer reads 71,477 but there are only a few hundred miles since the installation of the rebuilt engine. There is a decent possibility that these are actual miles on the car. They only put about a thousand miles on it since 1988 and he bought it from a 90 year old man. Sheet metal replaced: Doors, quarters, deck lid, floors I believe the inner cowl is not integris (rain would be an issue). Nearly all chrome (or polished aluminum) is new. Painted in 2013. The paint has small flaws that were difficult to photograph. It received a ding or two from sitting in the garage that were also difficult to capture. The color is from a Ford foxbody, Tangerine. Original wheels. Tires are not new but they are barely used. Interior is in excellent condition. Interior quarters have holes drilled for speakers (see pictures). Fold down rear seat. Six CD changer in trunk. Converted front drum brakes to stock Ford disk 428 engine (from ‘66 Thunderbird) specifications can be found in the pictures including: Aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold and water pump. 800 cfm Edelbrock carburetor 0.030 bored over Stock cast heads ported and polished, stainless valve seats, larger 427 GM valves New adjustable roller rockers High compression should be close to 10.5:1 (premium fuel) Paperwork describing the pistons and any other such details have been lost. Powerful. C6 transmission rebuilt in 1989 with new 2800 stall torque converter (also less than 500 miles since rebuild). 8 inch axle 3.50:1 locking, limited slip pig built in 2007 Apart from the drive train, steering wheel, and color change, and Boss hood scoop, this is a rather original car.
