1968 Ford Mustang GT500 MODERN convertible build (complete build with less than 200 miles) This is a one of a kind build that cost over well over $100K to build and thousands of hours of labor. You are looking at a vintage classic mustang that has all the modern amenities of today including Power windows, power brakes, power convertible top, modern power steering (newer style not old noisy leaky system), stereo system with Bluetooth and iphone wireless connection. It would be hard to find a better looking Vintage Mustang that drives, handles, stops and has the comfort of a NEW Mustang. The majority of the build was done by a professional custom car speed shop RDZ Motorsports out of CT. Rich the builder is a perfectionist and his work is meticulous. Thousands of hours were invested to this build. Industry specialists were also brought in for wiring and fabrication. Here is a more detailed list of the build. Brand new Ford 302 V8 – Pushrod Fuel injected motor (basically the same motor that was in the 1995 Cobra) Completely rewired front to back with custom fuel injection and Gas tank like new vehicles. All wiring is brand new electrical technology from Painless Performance. The wiring for the motor was over 100 hours to wire the motor, many pictures are available of the process. My choice for this drive train was due to the reliability, cost to modify/ add power and last but not least the pure music this engine creates when combined with the right exhaust/headers is in my opinion the best sounding Mustang. Custom performance upper and lower intakes for better performance and air flow Custom Air intake BBK Shorty Headers into 2.5 Inch H-PIPE with 2 Chamber Flowmaster exhaust this sound is pure magic. (running videos available) Tremec 5-Speed Manual with brand new performance Clutch (Video of clutch install available) Custom made billet “Go-Baby Go” Shifter with Nitrous button and hook up- one of a kind piece custom made special for this car. (Nitrous is not hooked up but can easily be added switch and button come with car) Brand new Coil-Over suspension all around car sits low and perfect. Possibly the best modification done as this looks incredible how it sits and it truly handles on rails like a new mustang even takes bumps like a dream. Power cross drilled and slotted brakes all around with all new wiring/hoses, parts, pump, pedals, every single aspect of the system was replaced with new technology. Car stops on the dime like new cars. No pumping brakes nonsense and lock ups like old cars. Entire car was completely rewired Electric from Painless performance no old wiring to handle/power any modern amenity you can throw at it this was a few hundred hours alone in just wiring this car. All custom LED lighting nice and bright lights. The interior of the car is completely custom with a combination of many different custom suede/leather style interior from various vendors, complete center console which has modern cup holders, arm rest with storage, Dash pad, Door panels, seats. Custom Shelby GT500 Floor mats. Even the Trunk matches the interior with completely custom trunk paneling a true one of a kind show car. The custom gauges are brand new from Classic instruments Auto Cross Series, modern and everything works, professionally wired with all brand new wiring harness from Painless performance. Nothing more annoying then when gauges and buttons don’t work. Stereo is brand new blue tooth, iphone or android wireless hooks up for music / microphone custom speakers all around. Stereo even sounds great with the top down and the loud exhaust. The frame/engine bay/ undercarriage are all rust free and in amazing condition. The car was completely media blasted and prepped with no drive train or interior in the car before the body was done. No embarrassing slapped on paint over rust here. Custom Shelby padded Rollbar. This is a very expensive and hard to find part that is the same one that was literally used on the 1968 GT 500 Shelby Convertibles. This was professionally welded into place with the interior out, not an easy set up. The Black Convertible top is in new and in excellent condition, all components were replaced with brand new parts from the Power top Motor, to all wiring, the Top Switch, all hoses and fluid all brand new. Top goes up and down like a dream. Body has complete Eleanor body kit which as completely customized so no seams painted Ford “Pepper Grey” with black racing stipes, over that is a CUSTOM Matte Grey wrap with Gloss Black Racing stripes. Bottom line is this car is one of a kind and has the best of old and new, sounds incredible, handles and stops like a new Mustang and has all the modern amenities from power everything to Bluetooth stereo. I have received a lot of questions regarding the Wrap on this car and what is underneath. Let me make clear that the wrap is not hiding anything. I have added a full walk around video of the car after it was completely stripped, media blasted with no drivetrain or interior and after it was painted. You can see from photos and video the paint was in very nice shape before the wrap. The paint had its imperfections here and there, it was not a PERFECT 10 out of 10 paint job but it was very nice overall with small blemishes. The wrap was done to enhance the Modern look of the car while at the same time getting rid of the imperfections. The wrap itself looks great but is not "perfect" the company who installed the wrap is THE AUTO SPA of Fairfield located in Southport, CT. Look them up they do all high end Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, Lamborghini, Viper, etc. The owner admitted that this car was the most difficult car they have ever wrapped and as a result around some of the front bumper/etc is not perfect but again looks very good overall. i have also replaced 2 of the photos ( only allows 24) with 2 pictures of the car before the wrap was installed as well. Bottom line here with what i am selling this car for if someone wanted to take the wrap off, fixed the very minor imperfections and paint this car you are still $25K-$35K ahead of the game with what is put into the car. . you will not find one that has this extensive amount of work done for less. There is no mechanical, or electrical aspect of this car which was not completely addressed and upgraded or replaced with newer technology.
