Vehicle description

This 1968 Ford Mustang fastback was purchased by the seller in 2004 and refurbished over the following two years with a repaint in white in addition to a replacement 302ci V8. The car also features two-tone aqua vinyl upholstery and a three-speed automatic transmission as well as modifications such as rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes, aftermarket suspension components, Torq Thrust wheels, and a retro-style stereo. This Mustang is offered with refurbishment records and photos, a spare wheel, and a Washington State title in the seller’s name.
The body was stripped down to bare metal in preparation for a 2005 repaint in white with blue racing stripes, and a Shelby-style hood and clear turn signals have been added. Exterior condition can be seen up close in gallery photographs below, including some corrosion on the rear bumper.
Polished American Racing Torq Thrust wheels measure 14″ up front and 17″ in the rear, wearing Hankook Optimo and Federal Super Steel 595 tires that were mounted in 2017. Stock front disc brakes are joined by Force 10 calipers and billet parking brakes over slotted rotors at the rear. Additional modifications include a rack-and-pinion steering setup in addition to aftermarket control arms. The interior is trimmed in teal vinyl with darker inserts, and the floors are lined with matching carpets over Lizard Skin spray-on insulation. Note: missing A-pillar trim, and aged interior chrome.
An aftermarket steering wheel on a Flaming River tilt column frames a combination gauge and a 120-mph speedometer housing a five-digit odometer that shows 39k miles. Approximately 1k miles have been driven in the seller’s 17 years of ownership, and actual mileage is unknown. Three Autogage readouts are mounted below a period-look Custom Autosound digital stereo with an auxiliary input. The replacement 302ci V8 was sourced from Jasper Engines in Indiana, and features an aluminum intake manifold and a Mallory electronic distributor as well as gray and blue accessories. Tube headers feed a dual exhaust system exiting below the rear valance. A three-speed automatic transmission directs power to the rear wheels.
Refurbishment records and photos are collected in a three-ring binder and on two CD-ROM discs. A Haynes repair manual, jack and spare tire are also included in the sale.
All work was done by a well-known and top rated classic car specialty shop in Washington State.
This is a great car to get into as most of the work is already done and upgrades have been made to enhance the driving and handling experience.
