Vehicle description

Vehicle Details 1968 Ford F-250. 2 wheel drive. 390 V8. Granny low 4 speed. Unsure of gearing in rearend. Unknown miles on drivetrain, pretty sure the engine and transmission aren’t original to each other. Starts, idles, drives, stops, shifts, reliably. This is not original or restored, but it’s not exactly a project either. More like a work truck/rat rod. it has a lot of new parts and gets a ton of looks & comments when I drive around. The body is rusty. The interior isn’t in great shape but it’s got nice clean newer carpet, new seat cover, and floor mats, door panels are in great shape, doesn’t smell weird. Frame is solid, new mirrors. The bed has a hole in the corner behind the drivers seat, I have a piece of plywood sitting over it so nothing falls through. Dual cherry bomb exhaust is actually pretty quiet cruising around. 33in wildcat tires have good tread but weird wear patterns. Truck probably needs an alignment. Pretty sure it has some higher performance Ford heads. The intake manifold and carburetor were recently replaced. Rochester carb, aluminum c7ae9425-f intake (police interceptor according to the internet). If you need anymore pictures or casting numbers let me know. I’m pretty sure the carb needs adjusted or replaced, there are random white smoke puffs that smells like fuel; sometimes out of the left pipe, some the right, sometimes both. It goes away quickly, and has not affected driveablility. I’ve only ever noticed when you rev it after it’s been idling, like taking off from a long red light. It could be the valve guides, but I don’t think it is. If it is the valve guides it’s an easy job and the parts are cheap. The truck always starts right up sitting or not, however the starter needs shimmed or replaced because usually it makes a ton of noise firing. No knocks or ticks in the bottom end. Top end has a tick, it’s probably a loose nut on the rocker. It could be something else loose inside the engine bay. Pretty sure the top end was rebuilt within the last 1,000 miles or so. Has some kind of overload springs bolted on the rear leaf springs. Sliding rear glass. Pre 1981 vin: f25yrc86292 Images Download the Motors app
