Vehicle description
Up for sale is a very unique car, an original numbers matching 427 400hp , power steering power brakes, telescoping steering 4 speed car. On top of that, it is a coupe. GM produced less coupes with the 427 tri-power than convertibles in 1968. This car has been in deep storage for a long time. The car was last titled in 1971.
This is a good restoration candidate. It has 427 tri power, 4 speed, power windows option, tele steering wheel, and a nice color combo red w/ black interior.
There are some parts missing. I will list what I know. Going from the front back. There is no radiator, fan shroud, and fan. The linkage is missing for the carbs and the distributor is missing too. The brake calipers are missing. The front right hood hinge is damaged on the underside. The interior looks complete, less the carpet. Last, the gas tank and gas cap is missing and so is the spare.
I have sold this a couple times on ebay, but the bidders are fake or cannot purchase the car. I will sell it out right. I believe that there are people with internet access, but are not free to run the streets bidding on cars. Probably doing this to amuse themselves. It is getting real bad. So, I will sell it out right too. Fake bidders are killing Ebay!
To address the major questions of the prior two auctions.
1. I have a clean MN title in my name. I processed the original one with no problems. I also made a "color" photo copy of it for records.
2. I purchased the correct socket to turn over the engine and it wouldn"t. I opened it up and it has surface rust in the cylinders. The lifter journals are fine. Lifters are like new, came right out. I am soaking the bores with transmission fluid. Wiggling it a little bit now and than with the goal of breaking it free. I called my machinist (he sleeved a lt1 for me) and said it would be no problem to save the engine.
3. The frame is weak on the left side towards the back. When I lifted the car up to remove the heads, ect. I saw the core support had rust too. If I was going to restore the car, I would get a new frame. They do sell parts to weld in, but to do it right, you should have a nice frame. They are available.
4. Here is the story. A friend brought the car by to restore it. He was concerned about the condition. He had just purchased it off ebay and had $25k in it. I looked it over with him and came up with the conclusion he should just sell it. The project was more than his abilities and wallet. Being honest, I told him it was worth half that much, $12,500. That would give him the room to but another "parts" car or parts to fix it up. So, I have a high ebay number and offered to help him out. It would be great to get the money back, but it"s not going to happen. Bid to buy. $12,500 is a nice price, $15,000 is a good price and $18,000 is to much. I am easily a year out on customer cars. So, I can not help anyone restore it.
5. I will not ask for a deposit. It doesn"t work anymore. There is a scam out there, PayPal will just give you back your money. All you need to do is say you didn"t get the car and they will take back the money out of my credit card or bank account. So, there is just one payment for the car, purchase price. (I have been taken by this!) They got the car and their deposit back.
The pictures tell a lot about the car. I have 50 pictures on my google drive, so if you want to look at them, you would need to text me and I will send you the link. Ebay will not let me send a google link over their platform.
This is a pretty valuable car and worth restoring. I reserve the right to sell it locally.
Give me a call and I can address any questions you may have.

The car is sold "as-is". Clean open title. I reserve the right to sell it locally. A deposit is no longer due to the PayPal scam!
