Vehicle description

1968 G10-108, VIN#GE15P122826 Model GE11305
This 1968 long wheelbase Chevy G10 was bought new at Wilkerson Chevrolet in Tulsa, and spent its first few years hauling advertising production equipment, then was used occasionally after that, so that in 2018 its actual mileage was 79,176.8. Currently it has a little over 85,000 miles. Considerable documentation will be provided to the winning bidder. The original 307 V8 was replaced under warranty in 1969 with a 327 short block, and the Powerglide transmission is original. Considerable repair of the brakes, suspension, steering, tires/wheels, exhaust, electrical components, seats, and insulation has been done, and the interior has been configured for hauling general commodities. A sunroof was added years ago, and it does not leak. All the glass is good except for some haze at the bottom of the windshield. The paint is very old and not original, hence the name “Scruffy”. There’s bondo in several places, but very little rust, and NO rust underneath. The tuned-up engine and transmission work well, and the original differential is quiet. It’s licensed, insured, and driven regularly. If you choose to drive it home, it will be reliable and will get about 15 mpg at 60-65 mph. AC, power steering and power brakes were not available for G-vans in 1968, but the original drum brakes and manual steering work well. And no it’s not a shaggin’ wagon or a Scooby van—you’ll have to do that stuff yourself!
