I am selling my 68 Chevelle SS 396 4 spd convertible . It is a tribute and not a true SS. However it is a true v-8 convertible as indicated by the VIN. I have owned the car for over 3 years and the conversion to the SS was mostly completed prior to my owning it. According to previous owner the 396 was rebuilt and large aluminum radiator with electric fan was added along with Holley double pumper and headers and then the car was painted, all this completed before I bought it. Engine runs strong although could use a different rear end ratio to help with quickness. Currently has a 3:08 gear ratio NOT positrac. Car has power steering and power disc brakes. Since owning I have replaced front and rear door panels with new armrests in front and recovered both rears. Both buckets and rear seat and seat back in good shape. I added SS interior badges. I have added new center console. I have replace both convertible lift cylinders with new ones a year ago as one started leaking. Just last week replaced the top pump/motor and hoses all new due to the pump leaking. . The top has been replace and has real glass both top and glass in great shape. The top boot is in good shape. Tires are BF Goodrich Radials 235/60/15 on front and 275/60/15 on rear with plenty of tread on all 4 and the wheels are American Racing. All in great shape. Gas tank appears to have been replaced prior to my owning the car. Buyer responsible for pickup and or shipping. I will assist where possible. $500.00 deposit within 3 days after winning bid. Balance due in 10 days after winning bid in the form a cashiers check at delivery or wire transfer and verified prior to delivery. Clear title given once money in the bank.
