1967 Volkswagen Bus. Westfalia SO42 Pop-Top Camper. Rare SO42 Walk-through model.
Finished in Medium Grey & White. Original color was L 87 (13) Pearl White.
Features: Walk-through Cab. Upgraded Dual Port Motor. Correctly Lowered with 4" Narrowed Wagonswest adjustable beam & dropped spindles. Many cool accessories Included, - or I can keep for a reduced price. (Contact me for more info) Pop-Out Safari Windows. Fully functioning camping interior. Camping equipment included. Includes roof top tent. Vintage style VW Bus Roof Rack. Vintage VW Bus Ladder Cargo door side step 12 Volt Electrical System. . . Much, much more I am sure I am forgetting!
The bodywork on this bus looks good for the age. A few defects, dents etc. which add to the character. Inside, the camper retains much of its original camper interior, but with updates and new panels made to the correct spec of the original factory German interior. You can camp and enjoy this bus as-is, or restore as you please.
As far as I can tell the frame, and underneath is structurally fine, and in good shape. It drives down the road fine, and everything seems to be in good working order. Only driven in good weather, (I literally check to see if its forecast to rain!) . . and always stored in a garage. This is an accident free, honest bus. There are small areas patched on the front floor area. The rocker and outriggers/supports/jack points on the cargo door side have been replaced correctly, and look good. The same needs to be done to the Driver side, but as it is just cosmetic, I have not had the work done. It does not bother me.
All VIN tags/plates are present also.
All glass is good and original. Vent windows and Jalousie windows work fine. Safari windows work great. The electrical could use some attention. Currently the headlights do not work or horn. Turn signals and brake lights are intermittent.
This is a reluctant Sale - She"s not a perfect bus, but fun and reliable. We use her for summer camping here in Michigan. You get a lot of looks, thumbs up, smiles, and photos! :)
