Vehicle description
1967 Triumph Spitfire 4 MK2. Condition is Used.
My Spitfire had an amateur restoration by a previous owner, including paint, in the early 1990s. Paint is showing it"s age and is flaking in some areas. I see no signs of any current or repaired major body damage or rust. Body has dents and dings that require attention to be made perfect. Most affected area is passenger side hood and fender, shown in photo. Some exterior chrome parts are pitted from surface rust but shine nicely.
Car starts, runs, drives and stops. Engine is clean and has most recently been run with ethanol-free gas and lead substitute additive. Manual choke works as it should via knob on dash.
Recent front disc brake service included new calipers. Drum brakes in rear. Emergency brake functions as it should.
Hood (bonnet), trunk (deck lid) and doors are functional. Windshield is in good condition but rubber gasket shows cracks.
Suspension and steering feel tight.
Undercarriage is in good condition with some minor surface rust, shown in photos.
Exhaust pipe shows exterior rust but doesn"t appears solid and doesn"t sound as if it has any rust through.
6-volt, positive-earth electrical system appears to be in good working condition. Headlights, parking lights, turn signals, radio/speakers, wipers, fan blower, and horns are all functional. Gauges appear to function as they should. Battery charges completely and holds a charge. Starter is showing signs of age and sometimes engages intermittently.
Aftermarket "wire" wheel covers over painted steel wheels. Tires show little wear and spare tire appears to be in good condition.
Trunk interior, carpet and tire tools are in very good condition.
Passenger compartment is clean and in good condition with some minor staining on the carpet. Seats show a little wear. Door panels are in good condition.
Included are a vinyl convertible top with frame and snap on vinyl tonneau cover. Also included are vintage dealer brochures, Haynes repair manual and one extra tail light lens.
Photos were shot inside my garage and outside in my driveway. I"ve selected those with lighting that best show the condition of the car.
Thank you for viewing my auction and happy bidding!
